You try creating everything and see if you dont need to rest
Satan was a complete f*cktard and that's why he got ousted..
Yeswe have free will
Because he wanted Cain to own up to what he did.. Like if my son draws on the wall with a sharpee, I will ask him.."Did you do that?" Of course I know he did it, who else would.. I want him to own up to it...
Your questions amused me... Keep them coming..

Rest is at best interpretation, perhaps it should be on the 7th day he sat back and enjoyed seeing what he had created. Satan rebelled against God for God putting Man above the angels. Yes God gave us free will , that's why there is evil and badness in the world, there would be no free will if there were no choice between right and wrong. As far as asking Cain where his brother was, that's kinda like a parent if someone was in the cookie jar, part of the free will , you are giving them a chance to tell the truth or choose right, you know the answer , you are testing them. And of course you will get many different answers , here many different beliefs , as we as individuals must decide for ourselves through our personal relationship with God as to what we have faith and believe in. no right , no wrong , just a matter of personal interpretation.

> God questions?
Ask and it shall be answered
> why did he need a to rest on the 7th day of creation?
To observe what He'd set in motion.
> What did Satan do to get cast out of heaven?
Attempted to rule among the other high angels.
> Did God give us free will??
Yes... or rather he gave it to Adam and later to Eve.
> Why did he ask Cain, where his brother was?? ( didn't he know)
He knew. He was testing Cain, to see if Cain would fess up. You should re-read that part of Genesis.

I think God took a day of rest so that we would have a holy day, and so that we would know that rest is important, even to God. I'm not really sure why Satan was cast out--hm, something to look up. Yes, God gave us free will. If He forced us to love Him, it wouldn't really be love, would it? And I think He wanted Cain to confess what he had done and was giving him an opportunity to do so. Anyway, I don't know if this helps any; I have questions too. It seems the more I know the more I need to learn. Good luck and have a good day! :)

Lots of questions. Prepare for a lot of interesting answers that won't help you at all due to sheer diversity and poor interpretation and writing skills of many Yahoo! users, not to mention a ton of unbelievers who will feel obligated to answer a question that really has nothing to do with them.
In any case, here is my point of view:
1. Why do we need to rest on the 7th day? Because we need rest and we need time to reflect on our lives. That rest is for us! It is a gift.
2. Traditionally, it is thought that Satan got kicked out for leading a rebellion. Honestly, I don't believe in Satan. I think he is merely a symbol for sin and evil.
3. Yes. He gave us free will. We cannot always change what happens to us, but we get to make the decisions, especially when choosing between doing good and doing evil. This brings me back to the Satan thing. Even if he exists, he is irrelevant. You still are responsible for your decisions.
4. Regarding Cain, this is another one of those things where the question was not for God. The question was for Cain. Sure God knew, but that does not mean he shouldn't put Cain on the spot and give him the chance to repent from his sin.
That's my point of view. Take it or leave it. :-)

iam muslim , i lve God too , in the story of creation , we believe that God didn't get any rest and he even tells us in the Quran answering non believers(what it means) that he created that whole world with no pain and no rest , cuz he is the almighty
yes God gave us fee will , and showed us the right path and gave us the will to choose , that is a test and we will be judged on the day of judgment for our chices and deeds and what we have believed in.
satan disobied God so he was cursed and cated out from heaven .
God is one, unique, incomparable God, Who has no son nor partner, and that none has the right to be worshipped but Him alone. He is the true God, and every other deity is false. He has the most magnificent names and sublime perfect attributes. No one shares His divinity, nor His attributes.
No one has the right to be invoked, supplicated, prayed to, or shown any act of worship, but God alone.
God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Sustainer of everything in the whole universe. He manages all affairs. He stands in need of none of His creatures, and all His creatures depend on Him for all that they need. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, and the All-Knowing. In a perfect manner, His knowledge encompasses all things, the open and the secret, and the public and the private. He knows what has happened, what will happen, and how it will happen. No affair occurs in the whole world except by His will. Whatever He wills is, and whatever He does not will is not and will never be. His will is above the will of all the creatures. He has power over all things, and He is able to do everything. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and the Most Beneficent.
wish that helped.

God, set us an example by resting on the 7th day.
Satan was cast out of heaven, for pride and for putting himself above God, vying for his throne.
And yes,God knew where Able was. I believe that he wanted to see if the truth was in Cain...which I think answers the free will question...

Did you ever do anything wrong when you were a child and you tried to hide and your Dad came in the room, knowing that you were in there, but he still said"boy, where are you "?
God did not only rest, but He also took time to look at His creation and admired it and found it good.
Satan got cast out of heaven , because he turned against God, pride made him do it and when he wanted to take over God's throne , God said NO.
Do you blame God for that ???
Yes, God gave us free will, why do you think so many people mock God and make fun of Him ?
If He wanted everybody to be His zombies, that would hardly be possible ,
I hope that answered your questions.......

To teach man that one day should be set aside to rest and praise god.Satan tried to overthrow heaven and take over thats why god gave him his own place{hell}.Free will is from god for us to decide if we choose heaven or hell, right or wrong. He asked cain so that cain would admit his guilt,we all have to admit that we have sinned and are sinners and fallen short of the glory of god.this is only my opinion

The 7th day mandates that we rest as well. Win-win
Satan got uppity
The free will argument is long and complicated. Yes and no.
He knew, alright. He just wanted Cain to know that He knew.
Yup, A to Z
Hope I have answered your many questions.
