Remember that the Bible was re-written several times by man. The last time it was translated into English (KJV) the people of that time thought that the Earth was the center of the universe.
Also, many things are figuarative in the Bible. I take this to mean that we should not worry about the rest of the universe and what is going on there, but for us here on Earth, this is the center of OUR "universe".
I have no idea where you think the Bible says this, but I would like to know. That's just how I would interpret it if it does say that.

According to scripture, "all things hold together in [Christ]." (Colossians 1:17) So I reckon scripture says Christ is the centre of the universe. Centrality need not be a geographic location.

Yes. At the time the scriptures were written, it was the common belief that the earth was at the center of the universe.
Even intellectuals of the time supposed this to be so, because they had no reason to believe otherwise. When the ancients looked up at the sky, they saw stars that seemed to circle them in the night sky. And of course, the sun looked as though it rotated around the earth. Even the ancient Greeks found it absurd that the earth could be spinning.
All of that stuff looked like it was put up there for US. Which is why ancient people must have thought they were so special in the eyes of their gods.
Then we realized that Earth holds no special place of significance ... that we're just one planet among billions, spinning around one of billions of stars, in one of billions of galaxies.
Yet religious people continue to act as if we're still at the center of the universe.
In the grand scheme of things, this little planet is utterly insignificant.

No, it doesn't say that anywhere in the Bible.
Remember that, when the Bible was written, people didn't know much about the universe, and there would be no reason for them to talk about it.
People assume that the Bible changes over time to stay up-to-date with discoveries that have been made. The last book in the Bible was written around 1900 years ago, and hasn't been changed since then. However, a lot of people believe that the Bible is incredibly inaccurate, but when you compare it to other historical documents, actually has more credibility than some of the most accepted documents out there.

I don't know if it says that but God seems to be focused like a laser on this grain of sand. But here is something interesting to ponder.
21 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
22 He sits enthroned above the CIRCLE of the earth,
and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

For those who claim the bible teaches the earth is flat here is contrary evidence. Isaiah 40:20 written 700 B.C. says "he sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its peoples are like grasshoppers. The hebrew word klug often translated circle literally means sphere.

Paris Hilton's father told her she was the centre of the universe, and he was wrong too.
Science has proved several beliefs to be wrong, and the earth being the centre of the universe is definately one of them. The Earth revolves around the sun, therefore earth can't be the centre of the universe, or everything would revolve around it.

No, Earth is not any where near the center of the universe. It is strategically placed to support life.

I'm not sure if it says it is or not. If it did could you prove it wrong. To know the center, you must know where the edges are, can you tell me where the edge of the universe is?
