I have to take Flexeril sometimes too, and I'm very groggy in the mornings. What I do, and this works for me, is I take the Flexeril pretty early in the evening, about 7:00 pm, and get the coffee maker all ready the night before. Then in the morning I start drinking coffee and allow myself a little quiet coffee time and that seems to help. If I were to have to function right away then it would make me feel groggy for a longer period of time in the morning. I don't know why.

I was prescribed flexeril (a prescription muscle relaxer) for a ligament problem in my back. This drug left me 'spacey'--I drove onto the Interstate and suddenly looked around wondering where I was. I stopped taking this drug and went to another doctor. I could not handle taking flexeril.

It is not normal for me but it is for a friend of mine. Everyone is different. I took flexeril after a car accident and I could even take it during the day. A friend of mine had it prescribed shortly after and she could barely function in the morning.

FLEXERIL (Cyclobenzaprine) is a muscle relaxant. It works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your brain.
Cyclobenzaprine is used together with rest and physical therapy to treat skeletal muscle conditions such as pain or injury.
Cyclobenzaprine may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.
FLEXERIL, especially when used with alcohol or other CNS depressants, may impair mental and/or physical abilities required for performance of hazardous tasks, such as operating machinery or driving a motor vehicle. In the elderly, the frequency and severity of adverse events associated with the use of cyclobenzaprine, with or without concomitant medications, is increased. In elderly patients, FLEXERIL should be initiated with a 5 mg dose and titrated slowly upward.

Patients should be cautioned about the risk of serotonin syndrome with the concomitant use of FLEXERIL and other drugs, such as SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, tramadol, bupropion, meperidine, verapamil, or MAO inhibitors. Patients should be advised of the signs and symptoms of serotonin syndrome, and be instructed to seek medical care immediately if they experience symptoms

sounds like you have too much flexeril in your system. call your doctor and tell him about this side effects. He might cut down the dose. You can further read about Flexeril via google.
