Today we North Americans have been taught to think in black and white terms, which is not healthy; we tend to generalize.

So while the question appears simplistic, is there a difference between fathers and men ?

Is there a difference between mothers and women ?

I ask this because sometimes, more often than not, we hear of a comparative analysis of men verses women salaries, with absolutely no mention of those men and women who are married to each other, and those who support children.

Reality is not 'black and white'....we have been taught to ignore the word, "some'....

Yes, there are MAJOR differences.

Men and women denote the gender a baby was given at conception. Men and women also denote having attained legal emancipation and physical if not mental and spiritual maturity. Only men can be fathers. Only women can be mothers.

Mothers and fathers denote the genders CHOICE to create life and then those who CHOOSE to be responsible parents to the child or children who respect them.

I personally would include Mom & Dad and/or Mama & Daddy, which denote the CHOICE and ANTICIPATION of creating a life together and those who then CHOOSE to not only be responsible, but happy, caring, supportive, loving, and nuturing parents to their child or children who respect and love them back just as much.

I was blessed to have a Mama and a Daddy. The best of all possible men and women.

I would say yea, not all men are fathers some are just daddies meaning they were just there for the creation part and not all women are mothers. Some do not know how to be mothers they were not taught to be responsible themselves so in return they can not teach responsiblity. There is a big difference.

Yes. Fathers and Mothers are those who have a child. Men and Women don't. If they do, they are considered Fathers and Mothers, as well as Men and Women.

Boys can become fathers as young as 12 or 13, they are not men. Girls can become mothers as young as 8, earliest I have heard. An 8 or 12 yr old girl is not a woman.

The primary difference in your question is the level of maturity and responsibility.
