that there might have been an initial force to create the universe/life, but the Bible is a fraud?
Many of you seem to verify the Bible with the fact that there has to be a creator. But even if there was a kind of energy (intelligent or not) who started all this... even if there was a thing we would call a god and everything was intentional: how does it proof the Bible or any other religion on earth to be right and the only right one?
I can't see a connection here. You can read the Bible and conclude there has to be a creator, but you can't see nature made by a creator and conclude the Bible is true!

I think at some point every logical minded person, Christian or otherwise, will question those things in their world that are taken as fact.

Is it possible that there was some initial force to begin the universe? Yes without a doubt.

Is it possible the bible is a fraud, and therefore not the "word of God?" Sure it is.

Here's the way I see it. There are a lot of things in this world that I can't explain, from strange coincidences to supernatural occurrences. I have experienced some of each, and in all of it I felt the presence of an outside force/energy/presence. Maybe its a continuum of energy that guides life, but for me I have no choice to believe anything but that is God.

Here's a better question, If the Bible was written by man, and has been re-interpret ted several times by man, what are the chances of the book as a whole having the same meaning as originally intended? Man is fallible, therefore he cannot be trusted, can his writings be trusted? Would it not be incredibly simple for an ancient ruler to have adopted this book and more or less called it law, in order to easily pass his influence?

I have to go on something called faith. Faith in something greater than myself, faith that this power/energy/God will take care of me, provide for me spiritually and physically, and insure my lively hood. Faith that he will guide me, and I feel that this book, the Bible, is a fairly god representation of what it is that this Deity wants. Honestly if you compare it to most other "Holy" books the all preach the same basic principles; Be good, Don't Lie, Don't Cheat, Don't Steal, Don't Murder, Obey/respect your parents, etc.....

Sorry for the rant, hope that somewhat answers your question.

The Bible stands on it's own, independent of Creation. I don't know of a single Christian who thinks that the Bible is true simply because Creation also happens to be true.

We believe in the Bible for a host of reasons. The Bible is historically accurate and documents some rather bizarre events which archeology has since found to have actually happened. The Bible contains over 300 prophecies concerning Jesus which were all fulfilled during His time here. These are just a couple of the reasons why we believe that the Bible is the truth.

Have a great day!

First of all, even though the Bible is a brilliant book it was after all still written by human beings! And people are not perfect. All the books in the Bible were written to the best of the knowledge of those who wrote them. And that was 2000 years ago! I believe the initial force that created the universe came from God. Of course Jesus couldn't tell the people everything because that would have been too overwhelming for people back then. And I know we still don't know everything today and we probably wouldn't;t be able to handle the whole truth because God is so great and amazing it is too much for us.

No, I couldn't deal with the idea. Enough of the Bible has been proven true for me not to doubt the rest. Besides the fact, why would I want to give up the idea of a loving God who wants to be part of my every day existence in favor of some "thing" that may have created us and then wants no part of the earth or its creation? Sorry, but I've tested and proved the Bible in my own personal life and I know it to be true. That may not be evidence for you, but it's all the evidence I need.

You argue from gross ignorance.

When God reveals Himself then the Bible is seen as His word and true.

True faith comes from revelation from God - you are merely telling us that you haven't received this.

If you want to examine the Bible from a merely evidential point of view then any proper examination will show overwhelming evidence as to it's accuracy over events impossible for man to even guess. Far, far more evidence as to it's truth than can be raised for anything else.

Even from a merely evidential approach you are without excuse.

But even that will not help you since no matter what the extent of miracles, signs, wonders or evidence that may be produced, even one rising from the dead, man's heart is so hard, and his sin so great, that only a true work of God can change it.

Sin is your problem and that blinds you even to overwhelming evidence.

Man's mind follows, and is a servant to his heart. If the heart is sinful then it will refuse despite all evidence to the contrary until and unless God changes the heart.

You can still seek Him and cry to Him for His work, but will sin let you?

Man is in an utterly desperate state, but his pride blinds him to his destruction.

You have the testimony of truth but what is that to you without the work of God?

May God be merciful to you.

When the bible falls inline historically with evidence provided, and when I know that Christ is what He said He is, then yes the bible falls perfectly into the position that there is a God. I have no doubts, you will just have to read it for yourself.

I can't. See that is why it is called faith. Faith is that leap into the unknown. If I could prove beyond a Shadow of a doubt that the Bible was correct, that God exist, then I would not have faith I would have ....for lack of a better word...fact. But faith is what My Lord requires and Faith is what I give Him.

It is not easy and it is not suppose to be easy. But it is faith. And that seems to be what atheist miss. You keep wanting us to "prove" this or "show" that, but I do not need to, I have faith.

I do not find the Book of Nature and the Book of Books(rightly interpreted,of course) to be at all incompatible.

Anyone who doesn't believe the universe has a creator is either naive or dishonest. And anyone who doesn't acknowledge God is a fool.

Your not looking for the truth because if you were you would be asking God Himself. Ask Jesus to show you what you can't see for yourself, remember there is no such thing as coincidence.
