It really depends on the religion of the doctor in question...

Religious doctors may feel they're doing god's work, or more likely just trying to get money and hoping their prayers will win them salvation.

However, many doctors don't believe in god, because they've come to understand the importance of empirical evidence and realize that god never "miraculously" cures people with amputated limbs or other incurable ailments (the only times "miracles" happen is with diseases that have a chance -however small- of going away on their own).

And the majority of doctors value science and recognize the importance of evolution, biology and testable results. I know a couple doctors, one is a devout mormon, but the others are generally agnostic, atheist or very loosely (very non-literal interpretations) christian.

Good question. Most doctors aren't religious and relize that they are the ones playing god. "God" will not heal Christians even if they pray extra hard, because he does not exist. So they go to a doctor like the rest of us. But the reason they are rich is because it's God's will..

I think that most Christian doctors will say they are doing god's work. Others will just say they like to help people. People go to doctors because it might be an emergency. ((I'm not Christian, but if I was, this is how I would say this: )) Religious people go to the doctor for immediate help, but know god will help them along the way.

If you read in the Bible, there were two times when Jesus feed people by a miracle. But no one has ever suggested that people should stop buying food and wait to be feed. There was once when Jesus had Peter caught a fish with tax money in its mouth. But no one has ever suggested that means we should stop working and expect God to pay our taxes.

Nor does that the fact that Jesus on several occasions healed people mean that we should stop seeing doctors. Rather it was Jesus himself who said, "The sick have need of a doctor."

The apostle Paul travelled with a doctor (Luke) who appears to have mended him on several occasions following stonings, beatings, whippings, and shipwrecks. Paul also wrote to Timothy as told him to use a little wine as medicine when he had stomach problems. The are numberous other examples all through scripture of God using both doctors and medicine as one of his ways of healing.

If you read through the Old Testament laws, you will find that nearly 1/4 of the 614 laws had to do with diet, exercise, sanitation, and other health related practices. So it appears that God wants his people to use common sense in dealing with health issues - including the use of medicine and doctors when needed.

The advantage that Christians have is that when those other resources run out (like the woman who had a bleeding discharge for 12 years and no doctor could help her), who can also go to Jesus for his divine aid. Just as the multitude was able to twice when they were in the desert with no food and Jesus feed them by a miracle. Or when Peter needed tax money and God provided it by a miracle. So also, when the common things we are suppose to do for health and healing fail, we have the power of prayer for miracles.

the huge problem with that learn is that it says not something approximately what ideals those sampled easily carry to. somebody can say they suspect in God, yet that doesn't advise they suspect in advent. they'd have self belief in theistic evolution. we don't understand what common non secular tenets those sampled carry to, and so we can not start to theorize any implications of the outcomes. The learn additionally does not account for confounding of particular variables. (we can not be confident despite if it somewhat is "bigger income" or "bigger coaching point" that's exhibiting causation.)

God doesn't always choose to heal. You can't just ask Him and He does it. If its inline with His will, He will.

However, if the Dr knows Christ, yes he believes he is doing God's will.

God made dr's such as He made mechanics, no difference.

Doctors are doing Satan's work. Real Christians practice medicine based on biblical teachings not medicine based on Satanic evolution.
