I have degenterative change of my cervical spine. Mild narrowing of the disck c3-4 and a bulging annulus or protrusion of C4-5. The doctor wants to give me three epidural shots, one each week for three weeks. I have always heard that you do not give the shots that close together. Can anyone help me out? I have been in severe pain in my neck and down my arm for several monthes. Thanks

I had 3 epidurals. I went to a pain management clinic. I was able to get 1 shot every two weeks and only a total of three.

I am not quite versed on what type of shots they are but a co-worker and my brother both had injections one week apart to relieve and / or block pain. The co-worker (an older lady) had long term back pain and this helped somewhat though it did not relieve her completely. My brother has something wrong from and injury in the C3 area and he had injections one week apart which helped for a time; though workers' comp did not approve any additional so it is hard to tell what may have happened.

If you trust your doctor otherwise, let him do these. It may help and couldn't hurt. It sounds as if you are in horrible pain now. Good luck.

Is this a pain management doctor? They have the most up to date treatments for pain. If it isnt a pain management expert I would get a second opinion from one.
