Then tell them.......unless he's like 80 and then don't do it LOL.......seriously, don't even start the relationship if he's that old....
Why are you afraid to tell your friends? Obviously it's someone you don't want them to know about...so why be ashamed of your feelings for him?

Tell them, they will find out sooner or later. Why not befriend the boy and you will manage to be closer to him. When you are at that point, ask him out. If he says yes then you will have your true love, and if he says no, you guys can still be friends, and other boys will come wondering into your life.

If you really like him, then why are you keeping your friends from knowing? If you don't tell them, one of them could start to like him too! Just tell them and tell him too. If you tell him, what's the worst that can happen? Rejection? It would be worse for him to not even know and go out with someone else...good luck. I hope this advice helps.

I would ask you how old are you first because it seems you are very young. Its not your friends business who you like unless you want it to be and why not just tell him that you like him and get his reaction, what is the worse that can happen?

tell your friends, it'll make it a lot easier on yourself because you can ask them for advice and when he's stuck in your head ask them for ideas on how to get him to notice you. try to get to know him, he might be interested. (:
