yeah at 147 because at 140 mayweather has been there done all that.....so why would he want to down 8 lbs for the junior welterweight title.....so it has to be the welterweight division....and mayweather wasn't a junior middleweight his last fight with de la hoya....he was weighted in at 150 at the weigh-ins but fight night he was 148!.....plus i got mayweather by tko either way it goes!!! don't care bout what round it comes in either.....Hatton is so overrated he should be in the wwf or some crap..i do like his speed though but it wasn't be there at welterweight...plus floyd will show the world why he is p4p best.....winner of cotto-margarito-williams is who floyd should fight next then a super fight with mosley....then i would pretty much called it a career...... unless he wants to win another title in another division at 160 cause he could outbox taylor, sturm, or any them.....then maybe hatton n de la hoya could fight at a catch weight....

Floyd won't go back to 140. If this fight is set they'll be fighting at the 147 limit. Both fighters have been woofing at each other about mixing it up. So let's stop the talk and set the fight! Hatton will have his hands full with Mayweather. Floyd better be careful because Hatton will be pumped up for this fight. He has a better chance than most are giving him. Floyd will win the fight BUT he won't destroy Hatton. Floyd's brittle hands and lack of punching power (which left him after he left 135/140 lbs.) will keep him from destroying Hatton.

I know that they are talking about making this fight, but i'm not sure if it has been set because if it had they would already know what weight they would fight at and who's title would be at stake. I just can't see Mayweather going back down to 140. If and when this fight is made, it will almost definitely be at 47. Hatton wouldn't go all the way up to 54 because he has a small frame and that weight wouldn't be good for him. I think 47 is a stretch for Ricky because as you stated, he barely won against Luis Collazo at that weight, but he'll have to move back up to 47 if he really wants a shot at Floyd, which he has stated that he is willing to do. But at any weight, i just think that Floyd's overall skills would be to much for Hatton and he would win a decision over him.

They HAVE to fight at 140, otherwise they might as well not even fight. It will be for Rickey's title at that weight. Titles don't mean anything to Floyd anyway - just money! And there should be a ton of it from the 120,000 that would pack Wembley stadium. I think Hatton has a real good chance to win at that weight because Floyd will be at full power and have no excuse to run. Also, a fight in England will keep him from running because he won't get a decision there unless he fights for it. I don't see Floyd fighting Hatton in England at 140 because Floyd has always proven that he doesn't fight unless he has ALL the advantages in his favor. I think you posed that question to put Hatton out of his weght class and give Floyd the upper hand. Do you work for him?

If the two actually meet up, the fight would more than likely happen at welterweight. Mayweather would simply drop down one class coming from junior middleweight and Hatton would move up one class coming from junior welterweight. It's basically like meeting in the middle.
If Hatton doesn't feel comfortable at welterweight perhaps he shouldn't show up at the weigh-in at its max weight. He should do like Mayweather did during his fight with Oscar, which was weigh-in at 150 with four more pounds to spare. Perhaps Hatton should just show up at 144 pounds. I don't think it would be a bad idea, because I don't think Mayweather would add that much more weight on the actual night of the fight.

no way the fight is at 140, No way.
it will be at 147. Hatton is the Challenger and Champ should never make concessions to the Challenger.
Especially to a fighter like Hatton.

147 is the weight this fight should happen. 140 too light for floyd and 154 too much for hatton.

i like jacbac but he make no sense. how can you say at 140 mayweather is the champ. mayweather has to defend his title or they will strip him over it. ricky a belt that means nothing. floyd is the world champ not ibf not iba he is the wbc world boxing champion. why wouldnt ricky want mayweathers title that would be stupid if he didnt. mayweathers last bout was at 154 going down from 154 to 140 is 14 pounds. right now there dead even rickys going up 7 which is easy to do and mayweather going down 7. is this or is this not fair.

WHy not at 140, it would make the most sense there. It will probably be at 147 for stupid reasons, although it should be at 140 so both are at their best.
