you have to eat to lose fat otherwise all you will lose by depriving/starving your body is water weight and muscle which means you are slowing down your metabolism.
your doctor is probably not a dietitian so doesnt know much about weight/fat loss because there is no way you can lose 35lbs of FAT in 2 months.
if you are losing more than 1-2lbs a week its not fat you are losing which means you are gona gain it all back.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Not exactly. You'll lose plenty of weight by starving yourself but mother nature will begin to work against you. By not eating at all your body will slow down it's metabolism (the reate at which you turn food into energy) to compensate for your "starving" condition. Your body will also begin using your muscle as well as your fat for energy. You will lose weight but as soon as you begin eating normally again you will gain it all back and probably more due to your decreased metabolism.

A method that has some success is the Adkins method. The theory is that since carbohydrates are what your body uses for energy first if they are available, by eating no carbohydrates you keep your body constantly converting fat into energy. You get to keep eating (almost) regularly and lose weight at the same time. You just can't eat any breads, pastas, or anything else high in carbs.

Another method is the whole foods method. The theory behind it is that processed foods contain very little nutritional value compared to their calorie content. In order to get the nutrients the body needs, a person must eat a much larger amount of food. By eating "whole foods" such as live grain bread and unprocessed "natural" fruits and vegetables you will get a much higher concentration of nutrients and won't have to eat as much. For instance, bison (buffalo) meat contains more protein than beef and has less fat than boneless skinless chicken breast. Its grass fed (cattle is often fed the meat of other dead animals) and is never genetically or chemically (such as the growth harmone fed to cattle) altered. This results in a pure form of red meat that provides a much higher concentration of vitamins, minerals, and protein than beef. Read Kevin Trudeau's book The Weight Loss Cure for more info.

Good Luck.

U will lose weight but it'll take time because your body only burns about as much as you weigh times 10 a day and if you dont eat anything it'll burn less.it would probally take a while to burn 1 pound because theres 3500calories in 1 pound. eat healthy foods and do lots of cardio...also drink lots of water...dont get on the scale every moring weight for 4 days to a week then check your progress

yes, you aren't given yourself energy to burn anything when you starve yourself. now i found it easy when i dieted last summer that the best way was eating boiled or baked chicken, salad, fruit, yogurt should soothe your sweet tooth and you can have a cookie or a 1/3 cup of ice cream. a lot of it is about portionizing. i wouldn't really call it a diet, but a change of lifestyle. once you get yourself locked into the first 3 days you should be hooked really. exercise plays a big part as well. keep yourself busy, i found this helpful cuz it kept me from eating all day lol.

well i hope this helps you like it did me....good luck :)!!!

Starving yourself might make you lose weight but your body is not getting the right nutrients and could result in damage to your internal organs. You want to lose weight the healthy way. Go online and find healthy foods/recipes to eat and exercise.

How about maintaing a healthy diet and eat more than just green beans. You don't have to starve yourself, I don't think that's what your doctor told you.

yes, but that's not healthy for u AT ALL!! what you should do, is eat smaller portions...and by that i don't mean some water & fruit...no snacks ESPECIALLY late at night...& you should definetely excercise...swim in your pool (if you have one) everyday...try to get up early to go for a bike ride or run every morning...and work out a little before dinner
