You know how in some movies and TV shows people shoot guns and they blow up cars and everything? Well, do they use real guns?

The guns are real however they have been modified to fire blanks. A revolver can shoot a blank without modification but it will be dangerous. A semi-automatic must have the barrel partially blocked so the blank will develop enough pressure to operate the slide. Other than that, these are all real guns. By the way, the bullets will not blow up cars or cause gas tanks to explode. Mythbusters tried to do this and even used tracer bullets and the tank would not explode. That stuff, as well as the "flying" car after hitting something, is all fake and set up by the stunt team or the special effects team. I've seen documentaries that show the addition of the gas can and explosive charge rigged to be detonated by remote for the "blowing up car" effect.

Well there is real blowing up of vehicles and structures in some scenes but only when humans aren't there. Mostly in face to face shoot out, its fake. Bruce Lee is said to have been killed by a real fire during shooting, but that was due to someone else's malicious intention.Otherwise the gun fires are fake.

In some movies they use guns with blanks, but at close range that could be fatal. In many cases for tv the guns are not real.

In some cases yes they do. I used to work at a gun store and we had the movie companies wanting to rent the guns from up. They of course use blacks in them.
