We didn't evolve from monkeys. Please learn more about evolution before taking others to task about it.
I do, however, agree with your position.
Addendum: Don't feel all alone. Here's another one that has no clue about evoultion: "If we have a common "primate" ancestor why did the monkeys and apes evolve to different forms than us? " Duh! Different environmental situations?

As you can tell from the hubbub above this response, the evolution theory does not actually state that we evolved from monkeys.
I am a Christian and I too believe in evolution. You may benefit from doing a little research and reading some books on this. There are quite a few intelligent and informed people on the subject on this website, so they could probably help you out and give you recommendations.
It is good for you to be open minded and try to reconcile faith and science. Keep it up.

The monkey evolution theory is just that; an unprovable theory.
Everything on this planet is of a carbon based organic life form with a DNA similarity of all living entities that is exclusive to this carbon based planet that we exist on.
There are numerous examples of extinct species that are gone due to climatic changes, encroachment of humans, lack of food sources, etc.
The idea that man evolved from a monkey species millions of years ago would indicate that there had to be a number of genetic mutations over time to accomplish this. No evidence of such occurring. And why are there still monkeys then?
Has any one found a smarter monkey that is building a structure and making weapons, or farming tools to live in the forest more efficiently?
Also there is the question of de-evolution or a throw back. Are there any reports of a human/monkey being born in the past few centuries?
Evolution? Explain the platypus, what did that evolve from? The kangaroo? The cat bird that leaves its' egg in another bird's nest to be raised by another bird but returns to its own species and continues on.
God has a specific plan, design, purpose and time line for each and everyone of his wondrous creations.
Who taught the spider to weave her wonderfully complex web that is renewed each day and is unique unto her alone.
Each and every species on earth has it's own way of doing things that is impossible to come about thru the idea of evolution due to the fact that the species in of itself would be required to think collectively toward the future of a specific trait that would make them a more efficient species.
Adam and Eve is not a theroy but a proven fact since we are here as God intended. Denying his deity as the creator of every thing does not take away from or disprove that he is God; only that we as humans are born with free will and chose to be as dumb as a box of rocks at times.

bailey, you believe that theory because that's the only choice you have been given in school by people you respect, here's another; In the first two verses of genesis a mistake was made in translation. instead of the word "and" it should have been "now". the first verse is correct. In the beginning GOD created heaven and earth. the second verse should have read; "now" the earth was without form and void and darkness was on the face of the deep,....
this is what I believe... After GOD created heaven and earth,
was the period of evolution and Dino's and that whole large creatures and plants and everything else people dig up out of the ground, the law of physics were different after a long time catastrophes took place destroying all land life and covered the earth in darkness and water and then....
now the earth was without form and void and darkness was on the face of the deep.....
no contradiction between science and religion, because there is only one truth, if it is true in one it is true in all.

Surprisingly, some Christians believe that Adam and Eve lived alongside dinosaurs. There is a new Creationism Museum with displays of men and dinosaurs living together. Considering that some people are capable of believing everything in the Bible, even when it contradicts itself, it is no wonder they can convince themselves to believe anything.

I am a proud descendant of an ape like creature that figured out it was better to climb down out of the trees, walk upright, and steal meat from the lions than it was to sit in the tree all day feeling safe and hungry.
Life is the natural consequence of carbon based chemistry.
Evolution is a fact.
The Universe came into existence without the need of a creator.
I'm going back to bed now.

1) Evolution does not say we evolved from monkeys. It says we and monkeys evolved from a common ancestor.
2) The creationist museum guys would disagree with you on that point.
3) I don't believe in evolution - it requires no faith. I accept evolution.

Humans are Great Apes not monkeys. As with citrus, all Great Apes can interbreed. If Jane Goodall really cared, she would have gone out on a heavy date.

Visit my "360" page to see how "science" supports intelligent design rather than evolution. As for dinosaurs, they were mentioned in the Bible, so how does that go against Adam and Eve?

Baily - Love you kid.. You really stirred their pot with this one.
They hate the whole evolved from monkey thing.
But here is the kicker. If we have a common "primate" ancestor why did the monkeys and apes evolve to different forms than us?
They also seem to ignore what a primate is.
1. member of mammal order: a member of an order of mammals with a large brain and complex hands and feet, including humans, apes, and monkeys. Order Primates.
Which means either they devolved from a higher ape like creature or we evolved from a lower ape like creature and ape like or Primate means it was.... um... a monkey or at least an ape?
They hate this. Thanks I'm still giggling.
