Slow down and make them pass you. Exit if they don't and wait in a populated area.

The question is kind of fuzzy. I take it you are asking, how do you know that the car behind you is the police or just thieves tyring to rob you? If it is the police, then they would have their lights on and will be in uniform when they get out. If someone is trying to stop you, try and pull off the road in a populated area with other people around. Just in case you need help.

I think you sound a bit paranoid, if thieves are coming up behind you and they are being chased chances are they will just go around you

observe whther the car follows u everywhere. try identifying da car. if it seems unfamiliar they're strangers (thieves).
slowly drive to da police station. that'll get em off u.

Just slowdown and see your side mirrors or your rearview cameras (if any) that they are slowing down or not
