I know this is a very "tough" topic, but I am not here to discuss that. I live in Texas, and I would just like some info on who I can write to petition against the death penalty, or if there are any reliable sources, websites, groups, etc...that I can go to.

Thank you to all! ;-)

The Governors of Texas and Florida, where most of the executions take place. ☺

Here are some sources:

National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty
www.ncadp.org

Equal Justice USA
www.ejusa.org, specifically click on state by state to find out what is happening in Texas. Also, once you get to the section on Texas, scroll down to to contact state and local groups. I am sure that they will be happy to describe their work and how you can help where it will count the most.

The best place to learn about the death penalty system in the US is the Death Penalty Information Center, www.deathpenaltyinfo.org.

Good luck.

Well in Texas or any other state there are activist groups that you could join or you can write you state senators and house representatives to tell them your thoughts. I personally support the death penalty and think that murders should die the way that they killed their victims but I guess that would just be cruel and unusual.

You may want to look up the catholic archdiocese of your city.... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=catholic+diocese+of+texas&spell=1

or the closest big city. If you scan around the archdiocese websites you'll find either their right to life group or other ministry that fits the bill. Contact the ministry and ask them. Many other christian denominations will have that kind of information for you also. Here's a few more sites that may help you find what your looking for

write anyone you can. The congressman, govenor, senator. It can't hurt to write as many people as possible! Although, personally, I'm all for the death penalty.

start out local, like one of your state senators, they would be the best bet. do a HAND WRITTEN LETTER. they usually blow off emails and calls, but they only get a handful of hand written letters, they are WAY more likely to read them. you'll have to do a search on the internet for how to contact them, or you can go down to your local city hall and ask for an address, i'm sure they can tell you where to send it.

Because society is so much better off with murderers draining our economy for the rest of their lives.

By the way where can I go to protest the people that claim lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment?
