My boyfriend says some men do it to show, "this is my girl, she is not available, she is mine"- do you hold your girls hand to show she is yours, or because you just LOVE to hold her hand. My boyfriend is not a jealous guy, we always cuddle, kiss in public, and are affectionate, but he says holding hands makes him feel like he is taking control, or showing ownership. What do you think about holding hands?

I do on occasion with my wife, but when we were dating, I LOVED to hold her hand in public for that very reason -- to show people that yes, this hot girl beside me is mine. I'm not jealous, or posessive, but it was an ego thing to know she was getting checked out all the time, yet she was with me. I also put my arm around her a lot... stuff like that. I didn't do it to show I was controlling or taking ownership, I was just proud that I was lucky enough to have this gorgeous woman with me.

But, I also loved to hold her hand when it was just the two of us, because I like her touch and I like her near me. So I think it's both, at least for me.

Hey Tracy L,

Holding Hands: might be silly and old-fashioned, yes, but I still love holding hands. Why?

If you’re one of the many people out there who think that holding hands is a simple, boring routine that adds nothing to a romantic relationship, think again! It’s time to stop worrying about.

Unfortunately, hand-holding has become less and less common in a world that emphasizes individuality and self-reliance in relationships. Some people might think that if they are seen holding hands with their significant other, they might be looked at as too sappy or dependent. While it’s true that some people might make that judgment, why in the world would you let anyone else decide whether or not you should add more romantic touching to your relationship?

Holding hands on a regular basis will make you more comfortable with each other, soothe your mood during stressful times, and is a great way to show the world how proud you are to be with your special someone. If you aren’t in the habit of holding hands with your sweetheart, today is a great day to start

That's why I like holding hands ;)

I hold my wife's hand because I love her and I want to show her that I can and will be affectionate toward her in every situation, whether its at home, under our roof or in public. I have no embarrassed/awkward feelings about holding hands and kissing my wife in public; I figure that no matter where we go, its her and I and I don't pay attention to who is around or who's watching....again...its just my wife and I....just her and me....so I'm going to show that my heart and mind knows that and shows that.

Men.....you ought to do that more often if you're not! If you're bold enough to duke it out with another guy for some stupid reason....then it shouldn't be any more harder to hold your woman's hands and kiss her no matter where you are.

I know making out in full passion is different.....which belongs at home behind closed doors but an affectionate kiss? C'mon guys.......be real men!

Hope this answers your wonder!

I love holding my girl's hand in public. And it's not to show that she's mine. It's just a sign of affection.

Why do people ALWAYS think it is the husband's fault when he goes outside the marriage for sex? Probably, the wife is not doing her job in the bedroom, and the man was driven to look elsewhere. A wife has obligations too. Look to yourself when this happens. You don't want to hear this, but often it's true. The husband may very well love his wife, but she may not be holding up her part of the bargain. If he were just looking for sex, he would go to a prostitute. But he wants and NEEDS more. The true betrayal comes not through intercourse with another woman, it comes with the emotional bonding that occurs during intercourse. When you women choose to not make love to your man, you turn that bonding over to another woman. You have no one to blame but yourself.

My guy holds my hand all the time..and I just asked him why and he said, "I hold your hand because it's my way to show that I care about you and don't want to be away from you for a second, and it brings a kind of cuteness and closeness to me to feel your hand in mine"...how cute, but yeah, he also said that holding hands to feel in control is stupid and very controlling, he said you should hold hands to feel love, not to feel superior and you need to talk to your guy about that. Hope this helped! :-)

I would hold my girlfriends hand because I would love to the feeling of mine touching hers. Just the bond of us loving eachother. There would be instances I would hold her hand for other reasons, but for the most part I would just do it because I love her and I want to do it. :)

I don't hold hands to show that I own my girlfriend. I hold her hand because I like to feel her hand in mine when we walk together. Does he hold your hand when you two go on walks alone??? If he does, then it's obviously not to show you're unavailable. It's just because he likes it and he's ashamed to admit it. :)
