Islamic terror. Is greater security expenditures the answer?

Todays newest terror plot jars media types to say the same stupidities, such as:

"this latest incident makes you ask whether we (america) have the proper security measures in place for an possiblitiy like this."

How much security is enough? Is there enough money in the world to build fool proof Islamic terror security system? Should we even be talking about extra security (defense) as opposed, cost effective offense (bombs, planes, prohibitions, deportations, and camps).

Such debate can bankrupt any lilly-livered western country that refuses to curtail the rights of its Islamic citzenry, where all the terror comes from in the first place.

I'm a liberal, but I've come to think that this is a matter that has to be dealt with as the western powers dealt with Nazi Germany. All middle eastern immigration has to be stopped, since we can't know who is a potential terrorist or not.

It is a intelligence/defensive war. There are few hard targets for bombs and the like.

First off you have to understand the Islamic Church is in the middle of a reformation and the groups that are focusing on terror are backed by a small group of extremist groups who are waching the support they traditionally enjoyed slowly dwindling to nothing.

The Koran doesn't support the use of terror neither do the major Islamic churches.

Secondly you can't fight a tribal society with bombs; it has never worked in the entire history of warfare. No tribal society has been overwhelmed just through military means unless they were completely annhialated.

You need to erode popular support for the movement by destroying the image of the people running it; that's how you fight a tribal society becase tribal societies don't unite behind ideas; they unite behind individuals.

Thirdly harassing the local Islamic populations in the west will not curtail terror beause they're not the ones behind terror; it's the ones starving in refuge camps in the middle east that have nothing to lose and are so angry about their life that they're willing to sacrifice their lives just for a chance for something better.

Fourthly 99.99% of the Islamic population is determinedly against Terrorism of any kind; just like every other population group on Earth.

Fifthly the Terrorists are destroying themselves by attacking churches which are considered off limits in nearly every society on Earth; right now even the most hardened supporters of Terror are beginning to question the value of supporting the terrorists when nothing has been accomplished.

Terror campaigns only work to destabilize a government whn the government is already on the edge of collapse and there's a force ready to take over from the government; most of the western powers are stable and are not in any kind of danger from Terror.

What is happening is weaknesses in or defensive systems are being revealed and dealt with as each attack and attempted attack is initiated.

The war on Terror is being won not by our largely ineffective campaign against them but because the terrorists are destroying themselves as they get ever more confidant.

The way the US has reacted to 9/11 has guaranteed victory for the terrorists.

What will bring the country down is not another attack... it will be economic collapse caused by all those security expenditures. The sign of the end times is not in the Middle East. It's in the Canadian Dollar coming on par with the US dollar within the next 6 months or so. Unthinkable stuff until very recently.

China is the next superpower, and the States are too obsessed with so-called "terror" to even notice.

So you think "curtailing the rights of the Islamic citizenry" would put an end to terror attacks, if only we weren't too lily-livered (suddenly Nietzsche morphs into Yosemite Sam) to do it? Which rights exactly? Should we put everybody named "Mohammed" on in-house arrest?

In all honestly though, I really don't know what we can do about the threat of terrorism. We live in a world in which devastating technology is available, and becoming more available, to insane people who are willing to use it. What can we do about that? "Mutually Assured Destruction" policies don't work when the enemy isn't a specific country, but an ideology. Al Qaida destroyed the World Trade Center, and we invaded Iraq in "response." A lot of good that did us.

Peace cannot be kept through force, it can only be kept through understanding.

There are no Islamic terrorists, only murderous sociopaths playing "God". The current methods in dealing with terrorism are not only financially costly but costly in regards to human prosperity.

The only solution to Islamic terror is to educate the masses, and let that education destroy the religion that is the basis for their psychosis.

Poverty and ignorance are the source of religious intolerance and extremism worldwide. Eliminate those, and you will eliminate terrorism.
