I've seen ghosts ever since I was a little girl, and I still haven't told my parents, friends, or anyone. A lot of people say "ghosts aren't real" but I know that they are. It's starting to disrupt my life because I see them everywhere. Is there a way to "tune out" my ability?

Please, if you are going to reply to this question with "ghosts aren't real" then I'd apreciate it if you'd restrain from answering my question.

I am going to answer your question seriously.

As long as everything else in your life is normal - you are not depressed, anxious,or paranoid - than your ability is not harmful.

However it can be very distracting. If you are unwilling to try medication (certain drugs for mental health can stop the sightings, and I am not a doctor so i can't help you there) then the best thing for you to do it try meditation and/or prayer. Some people have had luck "asking" spirits to leave them alone.

Keep in mind there is a whole subculture of people that spend lots of time trying to find/see ghosts. These people may also be able to help you get perspective.

Okay, you don't want people to respond with "ghosts aren't real". I don't believe in ghosts, but to respectfully answer your question, I believe wholeheartedly that you are seeing something that you believe to be ghosts. I do, as a Christian, however, believe that there are spirits and you could be seeing spiritual beings of some sort. As I have not encountered anything like what you are describing, I would suggest that you pray to God for wisdom on how to handle this.

If you believe in ghosts, I hope this means that you believe that there is more after life and therefore there is a God who exists. If you believe in God, then I hope you will ask God to help you with this. He is the Creator of everything and everyone and He alone can help you with issues regarding ghosts. If you are uncomfortable with talking to God or going to a church pastor and seeking assistance with this, then I suppose you could look up in the yellow pages, someone who deals with the paranormal and see if you can find someone who can help with this. The problem with that is that there any many crackpots out there who will not take your problem seriously and may try to defraud you.

You could go to a psychologist for help with this, but I believe that you may not want to try that avenue because you believe that what you are seeing is real and not something that can be dealt with from a psychological point of view. That said, I would strongly recommend praying about this and trusting God to help you. God can do anything and it is His desire that your focus is on Him and not on ghosts. If anyone can help you with this, it is God. Best wishes here.

I suffer from the same problem, and those who don't see them won't ever understand. It's like those 3D images that were the rage a few years ago. People that couldn't get their eyes to see the images didn't appreciate it and even mocked those staring at pieces of paper with lots of random dots on them.

I can't even go to cemetaries any more because they'll follow me home, and then we start having poltergeist activity in the house.

One thing that worked though is pretty simple. Burn some dried sage and blow the smoke around the rooms in your house, and tell the spirits to go away and leave you alone. It works for about a month or two.

I prefer to call them apparitions. I see them frequently. Usually of loved ones, family or freinds, who have passed on to the next life, not saying much but by their expressions I feel and know they are letting me know they are ok. However, I have been living in an apt. for 6 years and recently I have been seeing the apparition of an unhappy older man I haven't been able to identify. Could it be that "his" original home was here and now it's sold and their going to tear it down? I wish I could help, but I can't. I have to leave a nite lite on in my bedroom's bathroom so I can sleep at night, he doesn't bother me then. I only have these visions at night, so if I can't keep my bedroom too dark. I even wear a hat to bed sometimes to block them out. I don't know what to suggest to you but maybe read more about "mediums". I don't care for the tv show Medium but there was another show that helped me and somewhat inspired me called Life Among the Dead with Lisa Williams. She is amazing!

first of all, there are no such things as spirits of the dead chasing you around. once a person dies, his spirit goes to either heaven or hell.
second of all, there's something similar to what you are suffering from, but only muslims believe in those beings. they are called jenn or jennies. they possess great abilities and they used to serve king solomon. thier base is the bermuda triangle.
they can be invisible, bothering you only with sounds and movements, they can take on many shapes, specially animals.
you must've done something to bother them, otherwise they won't bother you. most children see them, but since they can't comprehend what they see, they just smile or wave thier hands.
we muslims get rid of them through reading the holy qur'an, BUT, then again, it might be just your brain playing tricks on you. I've suffered from this once, and i thought that someone would come and hit me whenever i fall asleep, but when that happened while the recordings of the qur'an were playing, I discovered that it's only my imagination. and it never bothered me again
go see a psychiatrist, if that did not work, go see a muslim priest and tell him what you feel, he may know what to do.

hope that's helpfull.

Embrace the true religion of the One God and pray for His guidance. But I mean if you see them ghosts everywhere and they are not making you feel scared, so what, yknow. If you have been living like this since small, AND you are still alive to tell us about all these, then I guess you pretty much COULD control your associations with feeling scared or frightened once you see them. I say, ability is one thing. Using it positively is another. Take care, and God Bless!

Well. Your spiritual (associated to conscience) eyes aren't blinded yet.

This is really a gift, but you can be hurt if the spirits are demonic. But if this is of the Kingdom of God, then this is a blessing. When people purposely rebel against Gods love & truth, then spiritual blindness/death happens. Jesus said that to see the Kingdom of God you must be born again.

So? Where are you in faith in Jesus? When you have believed in your heart Jesus shed His blood for remission of your sins & raised from the dead for your justification & have confessed with your mouth Jesus Christ your Lord, then you have authority, as a Child of the Living God to take authority over any ungodly spirits.

The verse to meditate on is to 'Submit to God' Pay attention to the Word & Love of God. Look up. (Holy Bible). Resist satan & satan flees. If you see spiritual discomforts, you will see the devil running with tale between his legs. Because the devil/demons are afraid of even the youngest child of God praying to their Heavenly Father.

Spiritual awareness is because of two things, either you haven't rebelled purposefully against God & so...

Or you have rebelled purposely in a similar way as grandma/pa or great gandmapa or parents did. And this was was a sin of idolatry or sorcery, etc... Then, you followed as led in family talk & unknowingly rebelled against the true God. Then this would be ungodly spirits & a generational curse.

But this can be overcome by calling on Jesus & turning to Christ out of love for the truth &True God.

Reading bluerose answer, I can easily discern she is experiencing ungodly spirits associated with a family curse. Please don't be offended. I had went through a 1yr breakdown before where I saw a lot a spiritual things. I do still see spiritually the Kingdom of God, but the ungodly spirits, I take authority over. They try to manipulate by fear & deception. Now, I can easily feel these spirits because they are a spiritual discomfort in my inner spiritman.

The ability to see the spirits is based on a sort of sense. Trying to control this particular sense is extremely difficult. It's like trying to control your sense of hearing, or of smell. While you can't completely shut off those senses, you can learn to ignore, or recognized, then ignore. It's like when you smell something odd, note it, then automatically dismiss it. Or like when you can hear a particular noise, note it, then ignore it while you do your thing. The trick is not in controlling your senses, but in controlling how you respond to what your senses bring you. Good luck!

Honey, you do need to go to a psychiatrist about this. These are visual halllucinations, they are not ghosts. But it sounds as if you are in some kind of denial to me, and are not really open to other possibilities, other than there are ghosts. So in that case I don't really know. But I do know that psychiatrist help people with these kinds of problems all of the time.

From what I understand, you may not be seeing ghosts but demons. Pray to god for these visions to stop.
