No you wont need to have them out. It;s probably just a slight infection. Take some throat lozenges.

Yes get them out now (in the US they would). Just kidding; take some aspirin and lozenges - strepsils are best here. If it still h.urts next week, go to NHS or walk-in center. Unfortunately, they will tell you the same unless it continues for a month, but at least you may get anti-biotics.
I moved over 2 years ago from Philly, hope you enjoy London as much as I do. Not much happening for Independence Day, but you'll find a good crowd at the Hard Rock (only time I go all year).
Feel better and have fun!

most doctors don't like to remove tonsils these days as they seem to have some connection to our immune capabilities.
Most likely, you are simply dehydrated from the long flight. Drink alot of water, and it may just go away. If the soreness persists or you develop a fever, see a doctor for a course of antibiotics.

No you have to wait for your tonsils hurt quite a lot and then go to doctor to determine if you need them out.

You have a sore throat love. Geesh talk about being a drama queen.
It is very rare to take out tonsils these days and they don't do it for a sore throat.
ha ha ha ha how funny!!

Modern thinking is to keep your tonsils and not to have them removed unless absolutely necessary.

no they wont take them out, ive suffered with tonsilitus all my life and they refused to take them out so i doubt they would after one time. best thing to do is take some painkillers and eat lots of ice/ice cream and it will soon pass.

No..don't worry.
Go along to a pharmacy, they will be able to give you something for it.
BOOTS is one of the largest so there should be one not too far from you.
Enjoy your stay!
