Take a step back and evaluate what you are looking for. Whenever you are looking for "any" job you usually dont find one. What are your skills? what are your passions? What do you really enjoy doing? Once you figured that out, go for it. In any kind of interview your attitude, no matter how carefully you try to hide it, shows. Take this time as an opportunity to find the job you really like.

Do you have anyone at your former company willing to give you a good reference? What is the company saying about you when someone inquires? What are you telling potenial employers about why you left?

You don't even need a lawyer to find out what they're saying- just ask a friend to call for a reference on you. Whether you're guilty or not, most companies won't take the chance of sharing that type of info. It's too likely to get them sued. The worst thing most companies will say is that you are not eligible for rehire. Still, it's vital that you know what they are saying, so that you know how to address the situation.

Because of my pride I probably would do the same. First of all you dont just walk out. Until proven otherwise I would have stayed there number one. IBy being harrassed you took the way out of quitting and now you cant even ask for unemployment. I would have stayed there and file for harrassment charges against the company and I would have press charges.

You should always look and apply for other jobs before quitting the one you already have. In your case, you should still have stayed there even though they did what they did and just look for a job. They will think they won but once you found another job, you would make them feel stupid because you quit out of no where. Lol

You might not want to bring that up in interviews. Did you have anyone there you could use as a good reference? If you worked someplace for that long and have no positive references, you might need to do temp work or something for a while to gain some credentials. I don't know what industry you're in so I can't help you any further.

How are you stating the situation of your last job on your resume or application? Do the potential employers have any indication why you left? Make sure they have no way of knowing what happen. Just state you "wanted more pay" or "wanted a position to further my personal growth". Something like that.

If it gets to the point of references I suggest not using them as a reference.

Sorry sweetheart but you should of stayed till you had a job. Well let me through this your way. Allot of states and I don't know where you are but city, county and Gov. agencies do hire seasonals which isn't full time but it can hold you over till you find a job you want. The seasonal time in would be anywhere from 6 months to on go if you like you . If you need any other info e-mail me.

Keep looking. You don't say how long you've been out of work. Unless you're looking for a fast food or retail job, it's not unusual for it to take awhile to find a job.

Good luck.

It has been proven that it's much harder to get a job when you don't already have one, yeah I know it sounds weird but it's true, just keep trying that's all I can tell you

Duh u should have gotten another job first before u quit. U never leave without having a back up if u do you'll se SOL. Go to a temp agency and please only use a good reference from the old job and coach them on what to say. Sheesh im 22 and I learned never to quit unless u have back up.
