It was immediately red, swollen, and blurry. Now a couple of hours later, redness and swelling have gone. But, my vision in that eye is blurry and I have a headache near my eye. Does this need medical attention or can I just flush it and wait?

Update::It has been about 14 hours. No change, no redness or swelling. Vision still blurry with mild pain. I don't have a regular opthamologist. This is my first eye problem in 30 years.

I would just keep flushing it and wait, if the blurred vision persists thru til tomorrow, then see an ophthalmologist, you may have scratched the cornea...but even that will heal with time.

Hi
That can bloody well hurt, wash your eye with an eye bath full of warm water then put some Vaseline petroleum jelly under your top lid to stop any remaining ash scratching, if no better the next day seek medical advice.
All the best, Ray. West York's. U.K.

No, it could have been something really bad. I would seek medical attention if it stil hurts within the next 30 minutes.

FLUSH right now. That's the best thing you can do until seeking medical attention.

Good luck!!! =D

I would make an appointment with your eye doctor just to be sure. If they can't see you right away, flush it out with some water and use some visine.

I would go to an eye Dr.....It would really be bad if it IS something that needs to get looked at and you didn't.

Just go....hopefully they'll tell you it's OK, but it's better to be safe than sorry with your eyesight.

Flush it, wait, and if it doesn't get better go to the dr.

I would go see your optometrist. SHe'll let you know whether you need to see a doctor or not.

I don't know... possibly you could wait I doubt it is serious. But have you ever been to Africa? If you have it is serious.
