When do you think the prices will ever gone done they are really expensive! I have 2 tvs from the mid 90s and will hold on to them until they don't work anymore but i would like a flat screen plasma tv.

The prices have gone down! They were twice as expensive a couple of years ago. What I am seeing now though is that the prices remain similar but they improve the units. If you really have your heart set on a plasma unit, wait until Black Friday ( the day after Thanksgiving). I'll bet the retailers will have them marked down for that one day.

It is the way I got my 42" Panasonic Plasma for less than $1000.

I agree with the other forum member who made the comment that the Panasonic plasma TVs have dropped in price. Nevertheless, the longer you wait for all the TV technologies to settle, you will be saving a lot of money - if and when you decide which technology to go forward with. If you were to ask about what is a "better" TV technology than plasma or LCD, the answer is simple: "DLP front projection" which is also undergoing major price reductions.

Good luck!

They already HAVE gone down compared to when they first came out. Consider an LCD screen instead of plasma. They last much longer and run cooler. It's a better option.

I personally would go with the plasma ...much better picture...and the light time on them is excellent ...Thay are supposed to last 20 yrs ..I don''t know for sure about that ....But plasma is by far the greater picture
