i do. i work downtown in a small town, and they just went past my office again. we usually see them daily. i feel bad because they preach on the streets to whomever they can stop. and go door to door in the residential neighbourhood. i think of all the things they're missing out on in life.

JW's do you ever wish you could be a little more like everyone else?

no..im young and i go out door to door and sure we get a few doors slammed here and there but knowing that you could help someone is worth it..plus its not like we HAVE to go...its something we decide to do and how much of it we want to do..and im not gonna lie sometimes i am like hmmm what if.... but then you see lots of other cases where they go into the world and many dont have a happy ending...so i'd rather learn from others mistakes...and i dont think we miss out on life...we do all the good stuff everyone else does..we party, have friends, boyfriends, marry, etc...we just do everything at its appropiate time

so yeah its actually a joy going door to door

maybe next time you can ask a young person how they feel?

No. The young ones that go door-to-door are happy to do so. Their love for Jehovah God motivates them like it does their parents to witness to people; it's done out of their free will.

Because of their Bible training, Witness children don't get involved in some of the things that their peers outside the congregation do. Don't get me wrong; some kids'll get in trouble with drugs and immorality no matter how they're raised. Nonetheless, the percentage of Witness children doing those things is less than those of "normal" children.

I'm happy that you've seen them busy in the preaching work but that's only a few hours each week. They still have free time. The kids in my congregation get together to hang out ALL THE TIME!! They go to the beach, ATVing, bowling, ice-skating, swimming, fishing, etc. throughout the year. They're really good kids. If you met them, you'd love them!

Jehovah's Witnesses, are not made to do the preaching work, they won't to, and it's fun, what do the either kid's do in there youth,hm let me see, fornicate, drug's, pursue a life of materialism, get drunk,I'm not saying that's what all worldly kid's do,but most of them do something like that, I wish that i was a Jehovah's Witnesses when i was a teenager, because i have allot of regrets and man if i go go back and do that over agine's, I've been a Jehovah's Witnesses since i was 21, and I'm going to be 26 in 2 week's,i stared studying when i was 20, and i admire are young ones because it's so hard to avoid temptations, and they do.
*
* And the Jehovah's Witnesses kid's, Teens and adults, do have fun, we go camping have party's we give gift's, i feel that my two young kid's get allot of gift's more then you probably need, we have BB-Q, Lot's of fun time's, nothing like i had when i was little, we were not very religious, and the only time i did get a gift was on Christmas & birthday's, so that kind of sucked, it's so nice to reciev an unectspected gift you know,we do allot of fun stuff, we don't need to fit to the world's standard's, my life has ben infinient time's better since i'v leared the truth, from the Bible and i started living by God's ritouse standerd's,are teen's don't have to worry about STD's, unwanted pregnancy's, and having all the bad memory's that i do because, i was a worldly teen.
*
* and to paul& kate, it' sound's like your an apastait, or either that your parent's were not totally listing to the Bible's council, because your child hood sound's like a complete disaster, and that would suck if you never had fun, but christain parent's are suppost to tech there kid's about God's word, they are supossed to love and cherish there children, they are supossed to do recreation with them, and not just what the parent's want, but do thing's the kid's like, kid's need that, and all the Jehovah's Witnesses parent's i know all have happy kid's, but sometime's there are the parent's that don't listen, and when it's all work and know fun, that's miserable. So that's why it's vitail to listen to all the bible's reminder's, not only the one's you like, ALL of them! "~", i don't know why the spell check never work'anyway i type pretty fast sorry for any miss spelling's.

Some JW's were like everyone else in that many are converts. They preach a lot because they are trying to rush Armageddon so that the earth can be rid of this wicked system of things.

Mt. 24:14 This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the entire inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Paul and Kate, missing out on your entire (worldly) childhood must have been good for you in that you say you have raised good children. I'm sure your mother's religion had some influence on your future morals. You don't mention a father, and that might have been part of the problem. Sorry it did not work out for your whole family. With seven children, I'm sure it was difficult for your mother. .

Mt 10:35-39 Says: For I came to cause division, ... Indeed, a man's enemies will be persons of his own household. He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me, and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not accept his torture stake and follow after me is not worthy of me. It seems that your mother is worthy since she persists in the truth.

JW's have the hope of living forever on a paradise earth, so what does a missed (worldly childhood) have to do with anything? I know of no other religion that teaches that hope.

Don't feel bad, children of Jehovah's Witnesses are taught the bible at a very young age just as Jesus parents taught him so well on the law, that at 12 years old, he got left behind and they found him talking about the law with the Pharisees.

Paul helped train Timothy and said to train children from infancy.

Most of the young children in my congregation spend more time going door to door than their parents. Many want to go into the full time ministry work when they graduate High School. That is something they want to do, not something their parents are telling them to do or in anyway making them do. That has to be their decision.

Children of Jehovah's Witnesses learn right along side their parents. So many know more about the bible them most adults. Many on their own make a dedication to serve God and are baptized at a very young age, as young as nine. Although, most are more in their teens. This is their choice, nothing to do with their parents.

Just as we may feel it is sad that children are taught that Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny are real, that is their parents choice to teach them that.

No. I was taught the Bible from infancy and was taken to the door to door ministry since i was born. I am passing on the same wonderful privilege to my daughter (7). She loves to go door to door. She knows it pleases God. Children of Jehovah's Witnesses are taught that there is time for everything. A time to play, a time to nap, a time for recreation, a time to study, and a time to please God.

Shouldn't all children be taught the same?

So, please do not feel sorry for our children. Remember, when Jesus was 12 years old, he was already very familiar with the book of Isaiah. Most children of Jehovah's Witnesses who were taught from infancy, by 12 years old, have dedicated their lives in serving God. What are the benefits? Less delinquent juveniles out in the streets.

There is no shame is spreading the good news.

Why should you feel ashamed? They are breaking no laws and even the children try to help you.

It's more than I can see by all the massive misconduct and ill-mannered behavior with most children in the world who do nothing but try to copy one another. They want nothing to do with godly standards but are too busy up in front of a TV or hanging out with innappropriate associations adding to the immorality within the world.

Look for the good in the little children. Why come here to post slander and meanness about God's little helpers? Why, they are even trying to help you.

God Bless and change your behavior. Did you know Armageddon will be here before you know and it'll be too late to change by then? Those children are doing the will of Jehovah God and why should they behave like all the other immoral children in the world who don't respect their parents but love Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and anything they think "is in" in the world, like their parents?

No- I enjoyed my childhood and teenage years.

Being surrounded by friends and family, free from a lot of the problems that plague others- drug and alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancy, divorce, etc.- WHAT A TERRIBLE THING!

In high school I saw how "happy" all my friends were who got to do whatever they wanted- I am not sorry that I missed out on that scene!

Your problem is you assume that we are all miserable because we don't have your life- nothing could be further from the truth! Witnesses are some of the happiest people I know- we have families, friends, parties, celebrations, everything that "normal" people have- we just focus on spiritual things before material pursuits.

*X-Theist: I think you need to double check your info- WE DON'T BELIEVE IN HELL, SO HOW COULD WE CONDEMN YOU TO IT??!! If you don't have correct information then don't say anything!*

Oh-don't feel bad sweetie! JW's don't have to do preaching work, they want to! And it makes them really happy to talk to people about the bible! It makes my heart soar when someone learns something new about God they never knew before. Don't worry, we have free time where we have hobbies and interests like everyone else, but we sacrifice free time for preaching to! Just think of Jesus. He never wasted any of his free time on recreation. He spent every moment preaching and healing people. And JW's like to do whatever they can to imitate him!

i'm so overjoyed you requested former Jehovah's Witnesses to answer this question. in any different case, how could desire to you ever locate out why they left? There are some thrilling solutions out of your non secular brothers and sisters - yet not one in all them has arise with the glaring. mutually as i replaced right into a Jehovah's Witness, I additionally concept I had the genuine faith and there replaced into no way i replaced into ever going to flow away it. that could desire to be fairly stupid, does not it, to flow away what you believed to be genuine that gave you peace of strategies. Neither did I flow away by way of fact i replaced into immoral or somebody stumbled me or I only did not choose to stay as much as the Bible's severe standards. I wasn't mixing with worldly human beings, i did not soak up smoking or ingesting. in reality, i replaced into pioneering and that i replaced into married to a pioneer. So why did I flow away? you are able to desire to understand that my father and mom grew to grow to be Witnesses interior the 1930's, and that i knew not something different than what Jehovah's Witnesses believed. We have been all anticipating the top of 6,000 years of guy's existence to end interior the autumn of 1975 (i will grant the Watchtower quotations in case you doubt me) and that meant Armageddon could come quickly after. My father and mom believed they have been the technology that could desire to establish the fulfilment of the top-time prophecies in Matthew 24 and that they could be alive while the Millennial reign of Christ all started. None individuals made any of this up. all of us believed what the Society advised us. guess what? This prophecy replaced into fake - we are nevertheless waiting, 33 years later. by way of fact of this I left - fake prophecies approximately dates and predictions while 6,000 years of human existence will end. Any peace of strategies I had replaced into shattered as quickly as I realised the quantity to which I were misinform. i'm now a born-returned Christian with a heavenly wish and that i compliment God that, interior the process the Holy Spirit, he further me to a place of repentance and forgiveness. faith does not shop. purely Jesus Christ can try this.
