A man lives on the 14th floor in a 16 floor apartment. Every morning he take the elevator to bottom floor. But every evening when he comes home he takes the elevator to the 9th floor and walks all the way up to the 14th floor. How come?

He's too short to reach the button for his floor. On days when it rains, he uses his umbrella to push the button.

I don't think it's because he's too short. If I remember correctly, elevetor buttons start with the lower buttons on the top and get higher going down. So the 14 button would be lower than the 9th and the 1st floor button would be at the top which he should be able to push.
Unless other people are pushing the buttons for him. Maybe he is short but in the morning he gets on with a tall person and when he gets home there is someone that goes to the 9th floor.

He's a midget (or a dwarf, whatever you call it), so on the way down he can reach the lowest button, level 1. But on the way up he can only reach to the level 9 button, so he takes that floor and walks the remainder.
