I use Magix Audio Lab for this. You need to capture and digitized the audio of your old records (this will naturally include the scratches and pops) into mp3 format. The software can do the capturing also, just connect your turntable to you PCs auxiliary jack in the sound card.

Once in MP3 format, you can master and edit the file, remove the posps and scratches and even amplify and / or enhance the sound of the final edited MP3. Its a commercial software hence you need to pay for the full program. Just google it and download it.
