I think that it is just a coincidence. I don’t see Teddy as real big on religion: partying with staffer resulting in a drunken car crash, drunken party with his nephew, divorces and remarriage, total support for abortion on demand etc, etc.

I believe it stems wholly from Politics. A poverty class dependent on government fits very nicely with Democrat Party politics don’t you think.

I don't think Kennedy cares at all about Catholic issues. Immigrants at the bottom of the pay scale will help the Democrats at the polls. But Kennedy's voting record most of the time is at odds with positions of the Catholic Church.

I don't think so, because I don't even consider Kennedy to be a true Catholic. He's Catholic in name only...in the same camp as John Kerry.

Not religious at all (and neither is Kennedy). He's sympathetic to the Mexican-American community because they tend to vote overwhelmingly Democratic. More voters, more votes. Simple political math.

I don't think Religion has one thing to do with the issue.

Kennedy is liberal.. It a liberal agenda to get people amnesty and design a way for them to become citizens.... They will be so grateful, they will become democrats and vote the Liberal ticket.

Yes, because over the course of 40 years, he did something 3 times that benefits catholics, he is OBV part of the catholic conspiracy.

DAMNED good question! I never thought about it, but yeah, it's probably the reason--probably has a lot to do with the current way the government works for them

Um, no. Otherwise, they would be pushing for other catholic illegal immigrants, such as from Africa, as well.
