You can buy a good used Corvette for ten grand. For that money, I'd stick to years 1987-1994. Great cars, the C4s. Fast and about 26MPG on the freeway. I'm on my sixth vette and will own one forever. Don't know what your age is but you might want to check with your insurance company first.

A used Mustang GT should have more than enough to keep you happy. If not, then just start adding Ford Racing parts and jump it up to where you need it. good luck.
