Applying for assistant manager. At most job interviews I'd dress really professionally, but at others I think twice about maybe dressing more trendy or in the store's style.

How should I dress for interview at Aeropostale?

I would not dress down. You are interviewing for a management position where you will be leading people and running the store. I would expect an applicant for such a job to wear a blouse and nice pants and probably even a suit. If it comes down to two people and pne dressed more professionally, who do you think they will go with?

If it were me, I would go to Aeropostale and buy a nicer shirt.. not like a polo.. you know what I mean. it would look good for you to come in wearing their clothes. even though you're applying for a management position, it might look better to be wearing something nicer from the store you're applying to.

The following are accepted standards in the job market. Follow them if you want to make a positive first impression.

Women:
· Don't wear your skirts too short or too tight, heels to high, or blouses too low and too sheer.
· Skip the loud nail colors and long nails. Keep your makeup subtle.
· Carry an extra pair of stockings just in case and wear them, even in the summer.
· Don't wear too much jewelry; keep it simple. Don't wear lots of earrings.
· Conservative blouse and suit, with skirt not too short, sensible heels, subtle make up and jewelry. Fill only one hole with earrings if you have many. Never wear large hoop earrings. (This will vary from country to country and the type of job being applied for).

Men
· Don't wear an earring.
· Keep your nails clean and trimmed and remember to shave.
· Wear knee length socks that match your pants to avoid "the sock gap."
· A dark suit, white shirt, tie and dark oxford shoes. (This will vary from country to country and the type of job being applied for).

Everyone
· If you think you need a haircut, get one.
· Don't splash on too much perfume or aftershave. Many people are allergic to scents.
· Don't wear a nose ring.
· Polish your shoes and press your clothes the night before.

Peace and every blessing!
