Jesus will reign but in a new earth, this earth will be gone

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

'World" in the Biblical context you're referring to means : society, systems of government, culture etc. Christ will return + rule 1000 years on earth: He will be the omnipotent worldwide ruler NOT humans. After 1000 years Satan will be released from bondage + sway [again] some folk to follow him + rebel against Christ! This will result in the largest military force ever assembled actually warring against Christ! Their flesh will dissolve from their bones where they stand: Satan will then be destroyed.

Because noone knows when the 1000 years will start.
And to darwinsfriend. He hasn't reigned on earth for 2000 years. He has only reigned in the lives of His followers. The 1000 year reign is when he will physically reign as King on the earth

Then this is yet another example of how the bible is incorrect when you consider that according to christianity,Jesus has already reigned for 2000 years

Don't be so bloody stupid.

The world will end, no matter if 'jesus' does sail down from the sky to become king of the world, or whatever other sensible suggestions you seem to be impying. Of course the world will end, it is proven.

This 'jesus' however, is no more than a character in a storybook.

I think some people mean the world as we know it .
Others actually think the earth will be destroyed which is not what the Bible says.
