Wiccans - Positive
Other pagans - mostly positive
Buddhists - Positive
Atheists - Hit or miss - this one is about 50/50
Christian - Hit or miss - I'd say 60/40. 60 positive 40 negative
Other - To random to put a number to it

What do you think? What are your impressions?

Loaded? I'm a christian but I call out my brethren. Jesus did and we're supposed to emulate him so there you go. ;-)

Anyhow - this is from my point of view and by no means is it super accurate. It is based on impression.

True - this is rather general. There are always a few that go beyond all of the time.

I think it boils down to how the questioner phrases their question.

Sometimes people ask things in a way that just screams flame bait.

Biased me?

Well maybe the number is slighty skewed...

I have some rather rude posts by my fellows for other posters even mine.

As Pastorjohn mentioned, I too had seriously thought about stop comming here because of all the baiting and of all the double standards.

But God reminds me that this is the way it is...and always was and will be until the Final Judgement....and...I am reminded that if even one person is helped by something we can share, then it is not a waste of time.

As for whom are "nice"....agree with some others that that is only the type of person the individual is and NOT a fair example of their bretheren.

It IS "fair" to state that the ones whom are truly aggressive in here are mostly the Christians and the Athiests....the others are pretty passive....except for minor exceptions of each "category"....again....just as the body of Christ has need of many parts of the body which are the children of God, so do all of the other groups.....

Peace be with you :)

I agree with pastor john and foreverset. I wouldn't try to assign a number to it. Statistics are prety shakey. Ever watch the news and see how the statistics fluctuate. Its crazy. I had one response a while ago that I wondered could be taken wrong. I felt a push to go back and make some changes and hopefuly the person checks back on old writings or gets them in the e-mail when I make changes. I agree its not right to put people down for their belief since we don't know what they have been through to lead them there. Only God knows all they have been through. I pray God speaks through me to people and not just me as he knows best what they need to hear and I don't. There is a scripture in the Bible that says to do unto others as we would have them do to us. In general terms meaning if we want respect we better give it out as well. Even if we don't necessarily get it.

I am new to this forum so perhaps don't have a complete perspective yet. But as a pastor who has an orthodox faith, it seems to me that faith is often under attack. Perhaps the attack is aimed at a certain type, but I have sensed a judgmental attitude that attacks basic principles of Christianity.

I guess what bothers me about that is it ends discussion. If our faith is based on fear, foolishness, making up something to meet our needs, etc. then there isn't a lot of room for discussions.

I have even come near to stopping answering questions as most seem to be a set up rather than honest questions.

I just responded to a young lady who was having doubts about God but loved God and wanted to serve him. She simply wondered if that was normal. She received responses that encouraged her to get smart and listen to her brain. That there was no God and her mind was trying to tell her that.

I wouldn't think of responding to a wiccan who was having doubts about their faith. It isn't my job to use their doubts to try and further my evangelism. I have sensed a rather hostile atmosphere to Christianity throughout this group.

In fairness I have also seen some responses from Christians on this group that have made me cringe. They are callous, insensitive and share no spirit of our Lord.

I don't know what the numbers are, just my observation over the last few days.

I think it's more like 60% positive, 40% negative for atheists, and roughly 30% positive, 70% negative for Christians.

We could all learn a lesson from the Buddhists, I think. The Pagans seem to do quite well too, IMHO.

I think your odds on Christians are wrong. There is definitely not more positive than negative. I'd say switch it around to 40/60 and you're right.

You're also right about Pagans, they are mostly positive and I really appreciate that...same with Buddhists.

50/50 also seems fair about the atheists, although I think there's more nice ones than mean ones, they just get upset once in awhile at the fundies. But don't we all?

One who is much attached to religious sentiments may find this forum irritating. but with a cosmopoliltan outlook, we can enjoy the forum. For me all religions teach the same thing albeit in different ways and all the people in the world are equal.

Those are sort of broad terms and a bit loaded, but even as a Christian I'd have to agree.

Pretty much the same as yours, except on Atheists and Christians, their numbers go down if you disagree with them.

Meh.

I can be nice, I can be sarcastic, or I can get so frustrated with someone by their 6th ignorant question that I just throw everything out the window and just ream into them.
