I've noted people, Christians and otherswise indignantly claiming "Christians or WE aren't suppose to Judge"... There's NO verse that says that in the bible. "Do not judge lest you be judged. For in the way that you judge you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. "And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." (Matthew 7:1-5)
There's also a verse that says, "The spiritual man judges ALL things but he/she themselves are not subject to anyone's judgement 1 Corinthians 2:15-16 . Note: "first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly TO TAKE THE SPECK OUT OF YOUR BROTHER'S EYE." Rightous judements are necessary.

This is simply saying don't be a hypocrite in your judements. There's verses that say to EXPOSE deeds done in darkness-
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV says: “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 4:2 NIV says: “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage- with great patience and careful instruction.” Notice that in this verse we are told to rebuke and encourage; so we should not correct if we do not encourage.
Titus 2:15 NIV says: “These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.”
Ephesians 5:11 NIV says: “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”
Use discernment, but don't allow folks to be comfortable in their sin. God instructs us NOT to.
God bless!

I think that it's just fine to judge: I put a lot of time and effort into learning how to judge accurately, and it's utterly ridiculous to throw that away and pretend that all beliefs are equal.
That being said, most Christians aren't in a position to judge accurately. That's because Christianity itself is based in false beliefs about the existence of gods, and about life after death, and souls.

I believe there is a place in the Old Testament where God tells his people not to judge (trials and punishments included) anyone and that he will ultimately judge them.
Judging is inevitable, you do it automaticaly even if it is just subconcously. You see someone with a feminine figure, and you automaticaly judge that person to be a female. The only thing with us judging is that we can never really be 100% sure on our judgements, because we are not omniscient. So if you don't know all the facts, can you really make a statement that you are 100% sure about?
And the Bible has contradictions because it isn't written by just 1 person and his beliefs, but rather by several authors. The Bible is a COLLECTION of BOOKS. Also, times changed :P

A hypocrite points out someones faults to hurt, condemn, discredit and humiliate them and not to help them as in political mudslinging. In this case the one bringing the accusations is always guilty of the same thing of which they accuse others.
The difference in 'righteous judgement' or discernment is that the intention is to help someone by discretely pointing out why a certain behavior is harmful with an attitude of love towards the person doing the harm to themself or to others. The motivation must then be love and without condemnation of the individual.

You've no arugument from me.
Most christians take the judge not lest you be judged totally out of context and fail to understand that its telling you to be merciful and make sure your not guilty of the same thing before you go shooting off your mouth correcting them and thus making you look like a hypocrite. Mostly this is about being merciful, kind, and gentle in your assessment of others actions and not to jump to conclusions as if you know what is in their heart.
We are especially to judge those within the body of Messiah. We are our brothers keeper.

I thought it was more because God is the only one who can really judge and even the most zealous/pious of Christians wouldn't say they know Gods mind. It is also that your standards that you apply to others will be applied toy you and as there are verses in the bible that say God sees all sins as equal then if you condemn for any sin you too will be condemned for yours as no one is sinless - we all sin as we are human.

I agree with you in point, but do suggest that the intent of the verse is for Christians to guard angainst raging against sin as if they are righteous since none of us are righteous. In other words, to be a "judge" is to have authority, whereas recognizing and helping someone overcome sin is ok as long as it is done with the humility Christ tried to instill in us.

Perhaps you do not fully understand the verses you are giving to us. Although you can judge others, it is best not to for you will be judged the same in return.
Clearly, they state that it is not a worthwhile venture to judge another when you have enough in your own life to judge and correct. Righteous judgements about your own life are necessary, not about another's life, for your life will never be 100% clear of mistakes or errors.

There is nothing wrong with judging someone's actions. The only thing we are not to judge is the condition of their souls. Only the person and God know that. But, we can judge a person based on their lives and what they do.

I think there are diffent kinds of judgments. We are supposed to decide who we will associate with. If there is a person that would be a bad influence on me, I should choose or judge to not hang out with him. I can't and shouldn't tell that person that he's going to hell. That is not my judgement, but Jesus Christ's.

Christians are more than welcome to judge each other. All I am asking is that you all keep your judgemental, FALSE righteousness out of my face. Christians, Biblically speaking, are called to judge other Christians, NOT ANYONE ELSE.
Keep your judgement of me to yourself, because I don't care what you say. It is simple as that. Judging me is a waste of your time.
If you judge me and say it to someone else, that makes you a gossip - and I know that is not Biblical, either.
If you are going to use the Bible to support your lack of kindness and your need to talk about others, do it right.
BOTTOM LINE - IF THE PERSON YOU ARE JUDGINE ISN'T A CHRISTIAN, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.
