sybil_the_soothsayer...y'know, she used to be normal but then she moved to an oppressive small town and the fundie (and I mean real fundie - earth is 6000 years old fundie) disease got her. A shame.

She is wrong. I live in the area that was affected by Hurricane Katrina and I do not accept your sister's or anyone else's condemnation. 'God' did not punish us. Moreover, 'God' does not punish people in that way. Does she think the tsunami in Asia was punishment for them? Your sister sounds like a joyless person. I pity her.

God has been America's protection and provision. We are forgetting our God. In the Bible, we are warned that in the latter days Hurricane Katrinas will happen. In the Bible we are told that the devil will shatter the power of the holy people. The only way to secure God's protection is for a nation to repent and turn from their wicked ways. America declines lower and lower each day. Without repenting, we can expect more of the same. Israel is history's first example of forgetting God and Britain is coming in as a good second and America seems to be racing to keep up. Forgetting God destroys a nation.
The fundie sister is almost correct. God is allowing it to happen to our nation. The devil can't destroy anything, without God's permission. The devil has 4 main jobs lie, steal, kill and destroy.
Repent, bow the knee, turn from your wicked ways and just maybe God will have mercy on this nation.

Your sis is not correct. Katrina was a hurricane caused by natural weather processes.

God is reserving his smiting for another time......The Great Tribulation. Hold onto your socks because God will knock you out of them if you aren't worshiping Him the way he wants.
