1) Don't listen to the nutjob at the top. Tax Protesters always end up paying in the end. Pete Hendrickson found what amounts to a glitch in the IRS system. He was sued by the IRS and has been order to pay back all of his illegally obtained refunds.

2) You didn't really provide enough info to truthfully answer you question. It depends on what you put down on your W4 when you were first hired. If you put down "0" they will withhold the most taxes (about 30% total).

Please ignore the Yah-Hoo at the top. Classic Tax Kook! His advice WILL get you in trouble with the law. His reference to Form 4852 is simply wrong and his claim of his son's refund of Medicare withholdings is baseless and absurd in its entirety!

To see how much your paycheck should be, go here: http://www.paycheckcity.com They've got some handy estimators there that are pretty darned accurate!

BTW, Wayne Z is referring to the nutjob above me! I've been called crazy a few times to be sure, but I'm NOT a Tax Kook!

Your paycheck should be $1,875 unless you are involved in a privileged (i.e. excisable) activity. The income tax in Minnesota is a tax on a privilege. If you are an American Citizen working as a matter of right, you are not properly subject to the tax. Read "Cracking The Code" by Pete Hendrickson. His web site is LostHorizons.com and you can find his book there or on Amazon.
My son worked in Minnesota last year, filed his return with a form 4852 and corrected his W-2s and he got withholding, medicare and everything refunded.
