Human relationships that are not based in mutual respect sooner or later will break or at least will suffer. Each one of us is responsible before God and Jesus for ourselves. If a family member is voluntarily interested in knowing about our beliefs and faith, we must share it with them, but trying to force our beliefs into others, family or not, it's a lack of respect.

Jesus performed the least miracles in his own hometown. They had the hardest time believing because to them he was just "the carpenter's son." One thing I've noticed being on this board is that a lot of people are turned off from Christianity, not by God or the Bible even, but by the people. They're looking at faulty human beings as their examples. Well, your loved ones know almost each and every one of your faults and they're judging you by those instead of seeing what has changed in you for the better. Just keep loving them and praying for them. You might plant a seed that God chooses to have harvested by someone else.

They know you. All your faults. They know you real good. They don't think you have changed, have the newness of life. They don't want to see you differently. They like you as you were, as they know you- predictable, comfortable, familiar.
No prophet is without honor except in his own country, in his own house...sound a little familiar?
The BEST way to gain them is to show them by your changed lifestyle. Eventually, they WILL ask or say something. That is the time- be sincere, but never pushy. Only God can save them, NOT you. Whether or not they come around is His choice.

I would have to say if you are trying to "win", your taking the wrong approach. Acceptance of Christ is not a competition that has winners and losers. Some people don't "learn/see" the truth until death. A constant gentle "push" is all you can do. We learn best by example, not words.

Honestly? Because Christianity is unyielding to modern science most times and it just doesn't make a lot of sense.
People don't want to feel guilty all the time because they are "sinners". I think that's another reason ppl aren't too into it anymore. But lots of people are so *shrug

They have free will and chose to believe what they want to believe. Don't look at it like a game (that's what it seems like when you say "win") or a huge obstacle, just live your life according to Christ and hope that they see that in you. By arguing your point you're just wasting your breath, they're not going to change their minds.

There is 3 reasons, # 1. God has to deal with them & we don't have to keep on nagging them. # 2 Your enemies will be those of your own household, # 3 You have to live the life before them, because we are the salt of the earth & salt makes one thirsty.

Because you are forcing them to believe in what you believe. The difficulty is remove once you allow them to believe in what they want to believe. Love means freedom. And freedom is another word for God. That is why God gave us free will.
