A friend emailed me a picture and I tried to order a print of it from an online service. The picture looks fine on my computer but they responded that because of the 360x480 size they did not recommend printing it because it would not be clear. Is there anything I can do online to make it printable? I am a novice so I would need super simple instructions. I doubt if there is anything that can be done at this point but it's worth asking. Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to improve the quality of a picture unless you are willing to invest hours and hours of labor into hand cleaning every pixel in it.

If the picture looks "good enough" for you, then have them print it. They just want to protect themselves from being sued if the print is not "perfect".

Or you can print it yourself. Copy it to a Floppy, CD, Flash drive, memory card, etc., and take it to your favorite Walmart or other discount chain store. They will have a machine where you can insert the floppy/CD/card/etc, push a couple buttons, and out comes the picture. (Usually cheaper too).

But that small of a picture (it is only about a 1 1/2") blown up to a 3x5 or larger will show some fuzziness. You will have to judge whether it is too bad to use or not.

You have been misinformed, 360 x 480 is ample dimensions for a print out. But it will be small, 1 3/4' by 2'. It is the resolution that make it printable to a decent quality. Check the size of the file, if its around 500KB (Approx 3 mega pixels) or bigger there should be no problem, however if it under 100KB the resolution will be poor, the lower the size of the file the less chance of a decent quality printout. If the file is of a fairly large size, the larger the better, save the pic and get a friend to print it. If they have a good printer you can easily get a 7' by 4' printout.
