For a long plane ride be aware that unless you are travelling in First Class or on an international flight you will NOT be served any food so bring along some snacks. Most people buy food at airport tp bring on board; others bring sandwiches, chips, etc. from home. You cannot bring bottled water on board unless it's purchased at airport after going through Security. And one more thing.... some airlines no longer offer pillows so if it's a long flight you might want to bring a small pillow of your own. Have a great trip... I'm sure you dad has a great surprise in store for you!
