I don't think you should feed you dogs either one. Try a higher quality food such as Canidae, Chicken Soul for the Pet Lover's Soul, Merrick, Timberwolf Organics, Flint River Ranch, Innova, Eagle Pack, etc. Try to stay away from foods such as Iams, Pedigree, Eukanuba, Purina, Beneful, Ol' Roy, etc. Any food you can get at grocery stores aren't good.

Honestly? no. Pedigree is a terrible brand of food. Full of nasty fillers, additives and grains. It also has a tiny amount of meat -- not suitable for a canine.
Instead, look into a high quality food that contains few grains and NO fillers/additives/colorants. A high quality food should always have a 'meat meal' (so 'lamb meat meal', 'chicken meat meal', etc) as the first ingredient. The ingredients on the dog food are listed by weight. If a meat meal is the first ingredient, meat is the largest ingredient in the food.
Dog food brands that I like: Innova, California Natural, Timberwolf Organics, Orjien, Merrick, Solid Gold, Natures Variety, Eagle Pack and Canidae.

UGH to both foods and any food you can buy in the grocery store is pure garbage. Science Diet is full of fillers and by-products.
You can click on the link below to compare dog foods. They are rated 1 to6. Number 1 being pure garbage and 6 being the best. They tell you what is in the food and why the food is given that rating.
I feed my dog Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul because of it's affordability and availability. And it's a pretty good food.

I wouldn't get either! I get Fromm for my dog. He just loves it and it's 4star quality food. It's no more expensive than Iams or Pedigree, well, maybe a little more but it's all natural food that goes into it and it just makes me feel better when there are no by-product in his food. Go to www.frommfamily.com and check it out!

NEITHER is good - Iams DONE HAVE chemical preservatives (hidden in the by-product- a reader said they dont) and are linked to numerous animal cruelty cases (their parent company is Proctor and Gamble - the most notorious for cruel testing on animals)
as a rule NONE of the foods you can buy at grocery store or Wal Mart (etc) are any good.
you MUST read the lables yourself and become familiar with ingredients
eg. By-Products are cheap filler - beaks feet feathers - and are preserved with a chemical pesticide known as ETHOXYQUIN.

Blue Seal Feeds.......the best dog food in the world.
I've been feeding it to my labradors for the last 15 years.
They've been an example of good health and great nutrition.
Not very expensive, and made in New Hampshire.

I would recommend something better, like Science Diet, Purina Pro Plan or one of the many other premium brands...but, between Pedigree and Iams, I would choose Iams.
As long as you're talking about dry food. I've avoided purchasing any canned or wet foods since the recent contaminations.

Neither one..they are both low quality foods full of cheap fillers and by products.
You need to look for a good quality food with no corn, wheat, soy or by products and with meat as at least the first 2-3 ingredients.

I did some research and found out that commercial dogfoods contain horrible ingredients that cause hundreds of dogs each year to be poisoned. They will actually put dead dogs, euthanized animals from zoos or shelters, and cats.
The drug that is used to kill the animal is not broken down and is still in active form in your dogs body! It has been known to cause the following:
*Kidney cancer
*Bladder cancer
*Skin cancer
*Stomach cancer
*Spleen cancer
*Leukemia
*Liver dysfunction
*Major organ failure
*Immune system collapse
*Severe allergic reactions
*Birth Defects
*Blindness
*Chronic Diarrhea
*Hair Loss
*Behavior problems, including increased aggressiveness! very dangerous if your dog is around children
Look for people who sell homemade dogfood! Or non-commercial brands that care about whats going into their products!
