This happens when you boot back up? Are you shutting down or just turning your computer off with the power button?

If you are shutting down and this is occurring then you have a driver or hardware problem which will need some professional assistance to locate. Or you can check the Microsoft site and search for "Shutdown problems".

If you are just turning off using the power switch --- DONT DO THAT! Always use Start -- Turn Off Compuer to power down.

i think what your referring to is "the blue screen of death" which you can change the color using some tweaking programs in case you think your problem message needs new life. it can be caused by many things, most commonly a worm or virus. try running a program like ad-aware making sure you have the latest update and see how that does. if that still doesnt work, find and dl a programs called hijackthis. it makes a log of your computer that you can then post in a forum on many tech sites and the admins will provide you with help to solve it. i recently used a site called thetechguide.com. make a name and post in the correct forum you log and they should get back to you within a day or two and are very helpful in leading you through it.

go into the device manager

start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager

expand all and look for any exclamation marks or errors by any of your devices

From there it will be easier to pin point what is causing the problem
