Also my wife has to put the dogs in their room when ever the pizza delivery guy comes to our house or any other time she tries to answer the door. It she is tring to show me something on the computer the dogs try to sit between us. At meals she will not let the animals in the dinning room while we are eating, they wine and cry worse than a baby. She will shake her head no and tell them to stop or they will go to their room they act like they know what she is saying because they will stop for a short time. They when they start again she will go to the hall and point toward their room and all she says is go and they go to their room. Do you think they actally understand what she is tell them or do they just understand they body movements?

Your wife has shown herself to be the ALPHA in your dog pack - at least as your dogs see it.

If she is kind, but firm and consistant...this is why. Dogs, like anyone, will respond better to a low firm voice, than yelling or gestures. The person who yells, gestures or strikes the dog, is unstable - not a good leader to follow.

When a dominant dog encounters an unstable (weak) human - they may challenge that person for power. And truly, many dogs do rule over their humans.

It's always important to pinpoint the unwanted behavior, like begging...set the rules before you start. Let the dogs know what you want them to be doing, rather than what you don't want them to do. In other words - let them know that they stay out of the kitchen, quietly, while you eat.

That being said, I always feed my dog before our meals. Personally, I'd hate to be hungry and watch everyone else eat.

Both dogs and cats understand our language (tone and content) better than you think you do, but they also understand body language and take their cues from both.
The dogs are also very protective of her that's why she has to put them in a room to answer the door. They also seem a little jealous of you because the dogs sit between you and her at the computer. Is she the only one who interacts with the animals. You need to spend some time with them also, just like you would spend time with a small child.

Dogs take there cues from many sources. The sounds of the words. The inflection in a voice. Body movements. And there own instict for whether a person is angry, happy, sad, calm, etc. Whether the dog actually understands the word can be tested by saying them when they don't make sense and without the same voice you would normally say them.

My suggestion to you is to go and get a pet of your choice to be only yours because these other pets have chosen who they want as their master and your not going to change their minds no matter what you do. We have a similar situation, my husband has tried everything to get our dogs to warm up to him like they do with me and its not happening. They look at him like "move out of my way, so I can get to mama". They will have to go outside and they won't even let him let them out I have to get up and do it myself. It's crazy, and I am not a stay at home person either, I have always worked as he has. Animals choose who they want, its not that they hate you they have made their choice and I really don't think you can change their mind. My husband got himself a pet and I really don't have any interaction with this pet because I don't want the same thing to happen again. Try it, and you be the sole caregiver in everyway with this pet.

Don't worry. Your computer understands you better than your wife or the animals. Just keep your nose pointed toward the monitor and your fingers on the keyboad.

You said that you had Akita's in your first question.
Akita's are very smart dogs so I believe they understand what she is saying
