I used to be an atheist but now I am theist because for me an atheist is not someone who says there is no God or does not believe in God but who doesn't Know Who God is, What He is, Where He is (His abode), When He comes on earth, What form does He take when He comes, etc
My religion is Peace because Peace is the religion of the soul. Also the religion of God is Peace which transcends all religions. Peace is an embodiment of the soul which is why God being the Supreme Soul is very sweet and peaceful.
For me religion has nothing to do with worship and it has more to do with what one believes in be it violence or peace. So if one is peaceful and believes in living in peace with their neighbous then that becomes their religion and vice versa.
Originally, however, all the various religions at the outset were very pure and perfect and worship of God was not adulterated as we have today.
Today, all the religions are fighting one another each one claiming superiority over the other. This is in consonance with the law: anything new must become old and impure. This means that all the various religions are now in their decayed stage(s) having all gone through the four stages of life span.
Religion has now become the bane to bring the world on its knees, watch it! When one puts water in a container or a bottle for a number of years what happens to it? Christianity has been around for over 2000 years and so is Buddism and Islam. Those days worship of God was pure and perfect and not in any way adulterated. But what do we see today when in the name of God and religion a brother will kill and maim a brother and expect to meet God!
For me all the various religions have lost their focus and have betrayed the vision of the founders.

For a couple of years before finally settling into atheism, I had thought about the concept of how the human body is billions of individual living organisms that come together to form one orgamism with a consciousness, and thought that perhaps that worked on different scales. All creatures on Earth forming a consciousness that combined with all things in the universe, formed one all incompassing consciousness. I was told by a work colleague that this concept was a Pantheistic idea.

I can respect people who hold that sort of view far more than people who believe in a creator style of faith, although I still think it's not realistic.

Even if it turns out there is a universal consciousness, when I die, I'll cease to be part of anything.

As long as religion, any religion, all religions, teach that belief in a thing is more important than finding sufficient evidence to verify if that belief is, in fact, true; then no religion is ideal. As long as religions persist in rejecting, even persecuting, those who point out the fallacies in the beliefs, dogmas, and superstitions of religion, then no religion is ideal. Irrational thinking such as that encouraged by most religions is not only useless in coping with life in the modern world; it's dangerous.

I'm atheist too. I would vote for Christianity not as an ideal but as a modern application. I lived in both Islam and Christian countries. Both their past is full of ignorance, hate, war, blood. But today, Christians are just little bit more modernized and rationalized. This is why I prefer to live in Christian countries instead of Muslims. Jews are still living in the past. Buddhists are totally lost. Christians are less worst of all worst, I choose not because ideal.

Its not that anyone's religion is right or wrong-the Truth remains so! Only one has to identify it, or seek it! One has to use one's own intelligence to analyse it-and follow that path.
Basically all religions preach God is one! And the path to God is also one! It is man who twists the ancient books to satisfy his needs and deeds and changes words. But the ultimate is to achieve Salvation or God-realisation!
Only the fortunate few marked souls who are destined to,come in contact with a True Saint who leads them to the Lord
May God bless U!

I would like to believe that if I live a good life this time around, that I will be able to reincarnate and have a better life because of it.

I am closest to being a spiritualist, I do believe in God the Father and that he sent his only begotten son Jesus to the earth to die for our sins. I believe in reincarnation may spiritualists do not. I believe in the spirt world and not so much Heaven and Hell only. I used to go to this Spirtualist Church but it closed down. The members mostly were all very old and they started to die off, so they closed their doors.
