I do not agree. If we are part of this universe and reality, actually we are childs of it, there will not be anything beyond our understanding. It's what we say to our kids when we are exhausted with their questions. You can't understand you are a child...

But knowledge grows with age. If we do not know or understand something today, does not mean we will never learn and understand it in next thousands or millions or billions years.

At one point in time gravity and a whole host of other knowledge were beyond human knowledge and understanding, according to your "question" this would mean that "God" shrinks as we learn more.

To be a true beliver in the Creator you must also essentially be Agnostic. God is unprovable, because if ''He" exists He is un-knowable by us. We are people, He is God. We have to also be accepting of "His" non existence, (if that's His will!).

Belief in God is belief in something greater than you. Something greater than anything else anywhere, and therefore infinitely greater than our understanding.

There is a great arrogant irony in saying

"X is beyond human understanding, and therefore what I say about it must be true".
