Notice they where not mention again in the scriptures. Their mom was turned to salt because she looked back. Lot was not always on the ball when it came to choices. The angels told him to go there and he pleaded to go another way.He did not trust God to protect him. He offered his daughters to the men that came to his door. It took the angels to blind them to get a proper response. The daughters made a decision to get their father drunk and shag him. He did not even notice. He was so drunk but yet he shagged them? Yea right! They got pregnant on the first and second encounter. What? So that was it in a cave. Distress can make some people do crazy things! Do we count the cost before we do it,if we don't we are left on our own. We have to listen to God he knows what is best. All the daughters were concern with was keeping the family name. Seems to me there were more of a problem than that? Incest.

I just read that a few days ago. It was recorded that it happened. However, it was NOT condoned.
I think the Bible is realistic in the fact that all of the people mentioned in it were not perfect. They sometimes did things that went against God's will (the passage you mentioned is one of them) and they WERE punished for it.

I really can't tell why. I don't think that God liked it. I think it was just recorded as happening.
