I think XP is better because it's older and all programms are compatibles with it (excuse my english I'm french).

If you have software that you want to continue to use, make sure it's Vista compatible. For example, if you have Word, Excel and others, I don't think it works with Vista. If you're ok with buying more software, go with Vista. You may also find limited options in new computers that will have XP the longer you wait. I like XP but that's just a personal preference.

Vista is newer and has better visual styles, if you are looking for performance go with XP. but if you want the operating system of the future go with vista.

Vista is the newest, and someone might logically assume it is the best. As others have alluded, this is up for debate.

Most techs I know would suggest to stick with WinXP while the bugs are worked out. That being said, many of my friends have Vista and are totally happy with it.

I think, vista is better. Of course, if your computer is powerful enough. In case you use programs, that require much system resources, it would be better to use windows xp.

XP is better. Vista has higher technical requirements, but has tons of bugs and security holes. XP is steadier.
