I am the youngest of seven children and i am 14, what dog would be good where we wouldnt have to pay thousands of $ for??

go with a rescue mutt!!! they are everywhere and they NEED the homes...smile
***take your whole family with you and tell the shelter or rescue organization what you have to offer and what you expect in a dog and they will help you by showing you the right match for you and your family... there are so many out there getting put to sleep.... its so sad... rescue rescue rescue...GOOD LUCK

Golden Retrievers are loving. Adopt if you can...if in PA/NJ/NY tristate area you can go to www.dvgrr.org and adopt from there, if not go to www.petfinder.com. When Golden Retrievers are young, they are VERY hyper. Therefore you should probably adopt or get a very calm goldie pup. There are also English Labrador Retrievers, but i am unsure of the price range. For littler pets, try the Cairn Terrier, the SoftCoated Wheaten Terrier, the English or French Bulldog, and many others. go to www.akc.org to find even more breeds that would be good for your family.

Go to your local animal shelter. The best dogs I have had and known come from the shelter. You will save an animal's life and it won't cost you very much either. Look for a lab or lab mix. They are very sweet and gentle dogs. Great for a large family!

go to your nearest animal shelter...the best dogs come from there. you should take a dog who suits your environment perfectly.
eg: if you have a big house then a big dog like german sheperd...or any other
if you have a small house then take a smaller breed dog and if you have enough space (medium sized house) then a lab
but you should be able to take care of the dog properly and must get it vaccinated against diseases etc .

shelter dog is the best. the dog will love you and you will save a life. My last dog came from the shelter. German Shepard. Smart dog and was abandoned.

I would recommend a short haired Chihuahua. They are very smart, protective, have a loud mouth, are easy to care for, take with you and very clinging. Pops
