Do you read all the responses to be certain you answer deserves "Best Answer" status?

People who actually give the 10 points to the true Best Answers are few and far between. It's all opinionated.

Do people still vote for their own answers? I didn't know that still occurred

Nope. That's an opinion. I don't expect them to have the same opinion as I do.

Now if the vote was for "most facts" or "least number of English errors", I WOULD speak up, immediately, and if possible, refuse the award if I hadn't earned it.

Burrito, my donkey, says his answers are always best. Although he can't read, he votes wherever his picture is.
