John 3:16 states

"For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life"

now question 1: Does this passage mean that if a person believes Jesus existed that they will go to heaven?

question 2: Does this passage mean that if a person believes and honors his teachings will go to heaven?

question 3: Wouldn't this passage cause the rest of the bible to be void if all one has to do is believe he existed?

question 4: When Jesus says "believeth in him" does he mean God, himself, or both? because one might take it to mean either one.

1 and 3) Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness."

When they say to believe in Jesus, they don't mean to just acknowledge he exists as we read in the text just sent but we have to also believe his teachings.

2) A most interesting fact about good people, or true Christians, that is unknown to most churchgoers is that there are two groups. A small minority go to heaven to reign with Jesus Christ, while the majority will enjoy everlasting life on earth. Perhaps this surprises you. Therefore, let us consider what the Bible has to say on this interesting subject.

What was God’s original purpose for mankind? When he created Adam and Eve, did he intend that they should enjoy life for a while in the garden of Eden and then die and go to heaven? No. God gave them a special assignment as regards the earth, saying: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:28) And Jehovah does not change his set purpose. He declares, at Psalm 89:34: “The expression out of my lips I shall not change.” So the Edenic Paradise must be restored and be enjoyed by faithful servants of Jehovah—the majority group mentioned above.

The minority group are given a very special privilege, that of reigning with Christ in heaven. In other words, they will share with Jesus in governing those living on earth. This is the Kingdom government that Christians pray for in the Lord’s prayer. Interestingly, in that same prayer, we say: “Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.”—Matthew 6:9, 10.

Does the Bible reveal how many are going to enjoy the very great privilege of reigning with Christ in heaven? Yes, it does. Says Revelation chapter 14, verse 1: “I saw, and, look! the Lamb standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads.” Keep in mind that Revelation uses many symbols, or “signs,” as expressed in the opening verse, Revelation 1:1. “The Lamb” is Jesus Christ. (Compare John 1:29.) And Mount Zion refers not to the political capital of Israel but to “heavenly Jerusalem.”—Hebrews 12:22.

Revelation chapter 7 gives us information about both the heavenly group and the earthly group we have mentioned. Verses 4-8 mention the 144,000 “sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel.” This is another case of symbolism and means spiritual Israel, or “the Israel of God.” (Galatians 6:16) Romans 2:29 says: “He is a Jew who is one on the inside, and his circumcision is that of the heart by spirit.” Revelation 7:9 next describes the earthly group, saying: “Look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues.”

Good People Will Live on Earth

Billions of good people will live on a paradise earth. (Luke 23:43) Would you like to be among them? Of course you would. What a privilege it will be to live on a cleansed earth that is free of pollution, famine, crime, sickness, suffering, and the ghastly prospect of nuclear conflict! Does the Bible really foretell such a thing? Yes, indeed. It says: “Evildoers themselves will be cut off, but those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. . . . The meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”—Psalm 37:9, 11, 29; compare Matthew 5:5.

What, then, about babies who have died? Will they too be present on the Paradise earth? They do not go to Limbo, which does not exist. But young ones in God’s memory will come back in the resurrection of the dead—one of the marvelous promises in God’s Word, as we have already noted. (John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15) Perhaps you have lost loved ones in death and often wonder where they are now. From the Scriptures it is clear that they are asleep, awaiting the resurrection.

4) The verse encourages us to believe that God gave Jesus for us to have everlasting life. The New World Translation has John 3:16 written as “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life." Maybe that would help you to understand the verse a little better. Also Jesus imitated his father so well that he was able to say in John 14:9 “He that has seen me has seen the Father also.”
AND wouldn't you be lacking faith in God if you lacked faith in Jesus? If you don't have belief in Jesus Christ then you are denying God as well because God sent him as his onlly begotten son.

So if we believe in one, we should also believe in the other.

No, there are other scriptures that come along with that one like Romans 10:9 &10 that if you believeth in your heart and confesseth with your mouth that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior then you shall be born again. And it was also said by Paul, "faith without works is dead". So, Alot of people believe that there is a God and a son. But basically that part of the scripture is saying that you need to believe that there is a God and Jesus.

You have to practice them also. Don't be stagnet. Faith without wworks is dead.

NO, the bible is a manual. Just like you get a new item and that item comes with an intruction book. Well thats the same for us. The Bible is our intructional manual.

If you believe in one then you believe in the other.

It's alot more to this . It's just that you have to realize who you are and who made you.

Most people miss this passage and its meaning by only 18 inches. This is the distance between the brain and the heart. To know Christ as A person of history and to know Christ as your savior is two different things. In the process of salvation two things have to happen at once. The Spirit must be compelling and you must be receptive. When this happens a true life changing experience happens. You must believe in Christ as the Son of God and you must be willing to honor his teachings, If you believe in the Son then you will Believe in the Father.

1) I grew up in an evangelical type home. For us, the only way of going to Heaven was to be "saved." Of course that was a zillion years ago; I'm sure they use a different word now. This was a special "event" a special moment when you gave yourself over to God. A specific decision. One moment you could be unsaved and as soon as you made the decision to give yourself to the Lord, you were saved and going to Heaven. (If one could believe in Jesus and go to Heaven a person could be a serial killer and believe in Jesus....so no.) That is, if you believe this way.

2) My mom, who is an evangelical Christian has a little green catapillar magnet on her refrigerator says, "God isn't finished with me yet." I believe that evangelical Christians don't expect
themselves to never make mistakes but to keep trying to ask themselves, What would Jesus do? (You'll see this sentence on pendants, bracelets, refrigerator magnets, etc.)

3) There are "Christians" and there are Christians. Evangelical types believe everything the Bible says, word for word, without allowing for bring things up to date etc. When I was a child even the Baptist were going to go to hell. lol
Again, a zillion years ago. lol

4) Is there one God, is it 3 in one. Was Jesus really partially
human? I think that has been a debate since the beginning of Christianity. If you are asking this for your own belief system, I'd say just do what feels comfortable to you. If you are asking it as a debate questions, oh my G-d, there are so many millions of debate points about the Bible. For myself,
I usually pray to God, sometimes to Universal Energy--- but that's just me.

Yes, but it's much more to it. The bible says that when you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, you will be saved, and as you stated if you believe in him you will have everlasting life. But there's much more to it than just believing in him, because many people believe in Him but are not following his teachings and honoring him in a way that they should. Getting saved is like just getting a new boyfriend or girlfriend. When you first meet them you want to spent all your time with them getting to know them and honoring them and cherishing them and never wanted to be from their presence. That's the same way I was when I finally let Jesus come into my life. I started going to church and wanting to spend more and more time with him. So its just more than believing in him you have to obey and live a holy life. Believeth in him means believing in the father, son and the holy ghost and standing and living by every word in the Bible and forsaking your will and all your ways for God perfect will in your life. I hope that I have answered all your questions

I have not watched the episodes in a even as, however listed below are my strategies. one million. The thought is the island does not transfer on the identical velocity as the whole thing else on Earth. In regards to the rocket, the island could must be relocating via area quicker than the send. Einstein's conception of relativity states that the quicker you progress via area, the slower you progress trough time. In conception, although the rocket will have to have handiest taken a couple of seconds to land at the island from the send's factor of view, if the island had a greater speed (in courting to area) than the send, time could transfer extra slowly. Thus one million moment for the send would be five or 10 for the island. This has been verified with rockets, however it is a little rough to snatch the notion with an island. two. In the 'New World' translation the passage reads, "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed, but have everlasting life." we need to actively demonstrate that faith through works, only then can we hope to enjoy everlasting life on a paradise earth. 2 Peter 3:13.

well according to the rest of the Bible, even Satan believes he exists so that alone won't make you go to heaven. You have to believe in him to the point where you take his teachings and make them a part of your life. Question four, believeth in him means Jesus, it's referring to the Son.

You need to actually read the statement. "whosoever believeth in him shall not perish" -
When a person truly believes in Jesus Christ, it makes the person naturally do other things so that there is actually much more being said here than what is written.
If I believe in Christ, I believe he is the Word of the Father.
So naturally, I would want to read and understand that Word and follow it to the best of my ability (we all fall terribly short).
I would want to do best not to offend him; I would want to
plant a seed of truth to those who are searching; I would want to not disobey the commandments of God; I would want to
be a source of helpfulness and love and reassurance to those around me; I would want to support a Church that teaches the true Word of God; I would want to teach my children about Christ and show them the ways in which they can serve him in their daily lives; i would want to have an on-going relationship with Him; I would want to build my faith and trust in Him; I would want to stand up for God in all things, and never deny Him.

My point is that when you believe in Christ, IF IT IS SINCERE AND REAL, then many, many things would naturally follow that, so just the belief in Jesus Christ is only step # 1.

Yes, if you believe in Christ, you will be saved from the second death, that is written and true, but if you say you believe in his existance and then you live your life as if you have no consequence to your actions, or live your life going against the Word of God, then your belief in Jesus Christ is
questionable at best. No person who truly believes in Christ is going to blatently test him by going against him. If ya do,
then you are either the stupidest person alive or else you don't truly believe that He is able to destroy both your body and your soul, hence, you don't really believe in him. Keep in mind that Jesus Christ is the name given to the WORD of God the Father, when made flesh. So, if you "believe" on Christ, then you believe in the WORD written, ie; the prophets
of the Old Testament, and the New Testament writings.
That IS Jesus Christ.
"In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the WORD WAS GOD.

There is much more being said in your verse example than what is actually written if you take the time to really read it with the fullest of understanding.
