Ha-ha!
There are benefits to doing this!
- You already know the customs, rituals and holidays
- Your parents would approve
- You won't have to think for yourself or struggle with ideas about the nature of God.
-
The drawbacks:
- Your spouse would have to convert to the same stupidity
- You will get bored
- Your kids will grow up to hate you because of religion

I think you'll have to make your final decision based on practical things, like if the religion has you wear weird clothes, eat weird things, won't let you do fun things, stuff like that.

Only if you are carrying your parents on your shoulders at the time.

Likewise, if your kids become adults and they choose to join that very same religion, they also have that right. Respect it.

Freedom of religion. Works both ways.

That is the beauty of one of the best gifts God gave us...

Free Will.

You can be any dumb religion you want to be, and you can give any dumb religion you want them to have.

Ah, Free Will. It is a beautiful thing.

whoever in whatever dumb religion, if he got intelligence he will change that...coz Allah said, "i gave every one intelligence to identify the best option" and according to Allah, he will send the true message to every human being - those who will accept it will be the victorious and those who will reject it for following tradition he will be the looser.

so dont worry..if by following ur tradition u become looser, doesnt matter may be our children will be intelligent enough to choose the best way.
All the best for all.

I think you should choose a personal relationship with Jesus, and model that for your children. Raise them in that way and they shall not depart. that is anything but dumb.

If you think it's dumb then no, you shouldn't pass it on and you shouldn't keep perpetuating ignorance.
