You would really have to hate Joe Frazier to put him in with Louis in his prime! Louis was a careful boxer, so he might take a round or two to size up Frazier and figure out that he was a one armed fighter. In the 3rd, Louis would wait for one of Frazier's leaping left hooks and cut inside him and drop Frazier with a beautiful 3 punch combination. If you know Louis, you know that once he's got you hurt, there is nothing left but the crying. Louis calls for Ray Robinson, who is at ringside, to step in and spar with him for a few rounds so he can at least get a good workout for the evening, and give the fans some more entertainment.

The Brown Bomber had two powerful hands and a great jab too compared to Frazier's great left hook. Louis would be a very dangerous fighter to come inside on and Frazier only knows one way which is coming right at you. Frazier is very durable and tough and would take some tough punishment from Louis and land some left hooks of his own but Louis is the better overall fighter and he would finally hurt Joe with combinations prompting the referee to halt the contest in the 10th round.

This fight would have been a hell of a slugfest. I see the momentum changing often in this fight. I see Frazier taking control of the earlier frames. Louis would take his time and jab away at Frazier. Frazier would bombard Louis with hooks to the body and try to take away Louis's legs early. Joe, however, would be too crafty and smart to be knocked out by Frazier. I see Louis taking control later on with his stinging jabs. When Frazier's tank gives up on him, maybe around the 8th or 9th rounds, I see Louis putting on the pressure and eventually getting a stoppage. I'd say Louis by TKO late in the 8th round.

Obviously you must not have seen Louis vs Conn I? A perfect example of what would happen if you brawled inside with a boxer who never lost his positioning if his feet when completing a punch. Conn made the mistake of fighting inside with Louis and got cracked with a four punch combo in the 13th round. Granted Conn could have pulled off an upset if stayed outside and fought, but he was arrogant. Now imagine a fighter who is trained to brawl on the inside and only had a one punch style like Joe Frazier. It would be embarrasing, it would be a repeat of Frazier vs Foreman I.

Great question but hard to make a comparision when they were from two different eras. Training advanced for Joe Frazier. But this debate could go one for days
