A question or answer that gave good points for a different religious view than yours, something that could've made you reflect on your beliefs for a while?

Do you remember what it was?

questions from my atheist and pagan friends about why i believe what i believe or questions about why this is this... always make me think about my faith...

especially when it isn't an ugly question. when it is a question that is designed to make you think....

the people that ask those kind of questions, i put in my contacts.

because I believe there is nothing wrong with thinking deeply about your religion and faith. if you can't explain to someone else why you believe what you do - if your only answer is- because- then there is something wrong there.

sorry i didn't really answer your question, i kind went off on a rant.....

Not really, but there have been many questions asked and answers given that make me very sad to think that so many people seem to hate all Christians and feel as if we are judgemental hypocrites. I am sure that there are Christians out there who are like this. I've run into some, but I stay away from them. I'm not like that, and none of my Christians friends are like that.

Yes, I believe in God. I believe in Heaven and Hell. I believe that some things in the Bible are meant to be taken literally and some are taken figuratively, and I believe that every person interprets the Bible in his/her own way.

I do NOT believe that anyone of any religion has the right to force his beliefs on others. I don't believe that God would want any Christian to do that. Many Christians are turning people so far against God that no one would want anything to do with Him. That, to me, is one of the worst sins that could be committed.

To all atheists, Muslims, Jews, whatever, I wish you well. Please don't let those Christians who've been so horrid cause you to think that we are all like that, ok? Have a good day!
Thanks for letting me vent.

There are many things that have made me reflect on my beliefs over the course of my life.

I have seen many well written answers in the R&S forum from varying viewpoints (and many poorly written ones.) But even the well written answers reflect views I have encountered before, in various books and magazines.

I think it is the more personal answers that have impacted me here - they are unique, and they are heartfelt. Anyone can opine on Pascal's wager or the eightfold path in a scholarly way. But only you can tell your story.... that is truly unique, and a great blessing for others when you share it.

Don't have any, so no.

Though some have made some excellent points using careful, logical, reasoned out premises and conclusions.

I've been very pleased to be part of this community. I hope I'm worthy of it.
