I put off taking my son until he was 3, although I really wanted to take him earlier, I was really suprised, if you go during the day, there is loads of toddlers go, and it can be noisy, but people don't mind, coz it's a kids film and nearly everyone is in the same boat.

Can she sit quietly for tow hours and does she really like shrek? if so take her. Get there early though and sit on the end of a row so if she does start crying or what ever you can just walk out.
There is no early age limit for going to a cinema, it all depends on the temperament of the child and whether she will enjoy it.

We took our daughter to see Charlotte's Web in May when she was two and she was as good as gold!
My recommendation would be to go when every one else's kids are at school, during the day, so that there is less chance of the cinema being full. because 2 year olds aren't great at controlling their volume if its not too busy you don't disturb anyone as most people spread out and the soundtrack is loud enuf to cover it.

Any age, but do the other patrons a favor and if she won't be quiet or she wants to wander, leave the auditorium. I took my son to the movies when he was 2 days old--there were four other people there besides us at the matinee--and when he cried, I took him out. They paid money to see that film and a considerate person would let them do it in peace.
Explain to her how it works, get her a treat, and sit near the aisle in case she has to go to the bathroom.

There is NO age limit, I've seen INFANTS in the theatres.
Will she sit through the ENTIRE movie?
My son loved to watch movies at home, so we decided to take him to the theatre.
He was more interested in the folding seats, big popcorn and big soda. He wanted to know why people stopped when they came in the door. Why the lights went out, etc.
He had so many questions during the movie!

Accompanied by parents, you could take a newborn to the movies. The problem is that sometimes the big screen and the loud sound scare little one's half to death. That's why they usually recommend that a child be at least three before you go to the movies. But, she might be able to handle it. I suggest going to the matinee where you will spend less money in case you have to take her out.

As long as you are confident she can remain calm and quiet during the 2.5 hours, there's no age restriction.
There's nothing worse than a parent who takes their child to the theater and doesn't remove them when the child becomes disruptive...so as long as you are willing to take her out of the theater until she can quiet down again (if she starts talking, crying...etc), I think you all will have a great time!

Ive never heard of any age restrictions. People bring newborns to the movies.. Ive seen tons of toddlers. Our AMC theater does a special toddler movie (and its free) once a month.
