Does God Exist?
Some Scientists Answer
PHYSICS professor Ulrich J. Becker, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, stated when commenting on the existence of God: "How can I exist without a creator? I am not aware of any compelling answer ever given."

Did this contradict his scientific views? The professor's thought-provoking answer was, "If you discovered how one wheel in the 'clock' turns—you may speculate how the rest move, but you are not entitled to call this scientific and better leave alone the question of who wound up the spring."

Contrary to the opinion of some, many respected men of science do not rule out the idea of there being a God—a Great Mastermind behind the creation of the universe and man.

Consider two more examples on this point. When mathematics professor John E. Fornaess, of Princeton University, was asked for his thoughts on the existence of God, he replied: "I believe that there is a God and that God brings structure to the universe on all levels from elementary particles to living beings to superclusters of galaxies."

Physics professor Henry Margenau, of Yale University, said that he was convinced that the laws of nature were created by God, adding: "God created the universe out of nothing in an act which also brought time into existence." He then noted that in the book The Mystery of Life's Origin, three scientists explain that a Creator is a plausible explanation for life's origin. Supporting this view, astronomer Fred Hoyle has stated that believing the first cell originated by chance is like believing that a tornado ripping through a junkyard full of Boeing 747 airplane parts dismembered and in disarray could produce a 747.

To these answers can be added the words of the Bible writer Paul: "[God's] invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world's creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship."—Romans 1:20.

"If you discovered how one wheel in the 'clock' turns—you may speculate how the rest move, but you . . . better leave alone the question of who wound up the spring"

Yes, God really does exist! But what is his reason for allowing the world's present sorry state? What is his purpose for the earth? Can we know exactly who the true God is?

1) Everything created needs a creator. So the universe was created by G-d, the ultimate Creator.

2) Good and evil can only exist, be objective realities, if G-d exists. G-d is the absolute standard of morality, as He is infinitely righteous. And I think that good and evil objectively exist.

3) Reality is intelligible. That our brains can comprehend and study reality successfully is an incredible miracle that attests for the existence of a benevolent Creator.

4) Empathy. The fact that we humans can experiment feelings of empathy and love means that there is something beyond materiality that ultimately bonds all mankind together. And that "bonding agent" is the Creator of our empathic souls: the Almighty G-d.

5) Our lifes. The fact that I am alive is an incredible miracle that gives testimony to the existence of a merciful Creator.

I experienced God directly when I was seventeen.
I have never taken drugs.
I had a cat-scan (negative, nothing bad, just normal).
The psychologist I went to (just in case) said he saw no bad effects and plenty of good ones and sent me away with an offer to talk further if I felt the need.
The effects of that one experience have changed countless lives without needing a book, a following, a sense of being superior (far from it), or a cult.

Life is so simple.

By the way, this isn't (of course) proof for anyone else (expecting that would be silly, particularly for someone who knows what scientific method is, and has had formal and symbolic logic training, as well as studying comparative world religion and philosophy).

It's just proof for me.

May be he is only real because we agree.
There are so many people agreeing about this, so it becomes almost a solid 'truth'
I cant give you five reasons why he exist but only one:
Is an agreement that people have made.
You are made to belief this since many ages. It is NOT based in facts.
I am not saying he exists or not, I am saying his existence is being forced in since a long time, for some reason or another, many people have died from it, or for believing otherwise and viseversa.

1st The experiences in my life. I would not have survived.
2nd It adds up historically ( it says in the bible in 2 places a day to God is a thousand years. So our time is not his. This explains the age of the earth and the return not happening when we think it should. In some places in the bible, it is talking in our time other places it is Gods time)
3rd Man would Not have put such rules on themselves. It is in our chemistry/desires to do the opposite.
4th It's predictions are coming true all of the time
5th Conviction when we do something we should not. It is in all of us to do what we want or feel we should at that moment. So why would we feel so badly afterward if it was really okay to do.
These are what I call logical reasons. There are many more.

Do you need more & now you give me just one reason why you think God does not exist.

You want others to give you reasons why THEY think God is real. Problem is: those would be THEIR reasons and you need YOUR OWN reasons - which is difficult when it sounds like you're looking for reasons to NOT believe He is real.

1. my direct, personal experience of God's presence.
2. help/support I feel received when I ask and am open to it.
3. there are many others who have direct, personal experience of God - so I am not the only one.

I'm sure I could have split these finer or more particularly (each case, instead of grouping)...but do you really need 5 reasons?

1. Look around you. Do you really think this world could really just slowly come into being.
2. Look at your body. How it works. Do you really think you could evolve into who you are.
3. Look into God's book the Bible and Search for God. God has promised if you search for Him you will find Him.
4. I talk to Him in prayer daily and He answers. Not out loud but through my thoughts, sometimes through daily happens and sometimes through other people.
5. God gives peace. He give comfort. He provides our needs. He is there for me. I can feel his presence.

I agree with Jack it works both ways.
God gave me everything that I have ever needed to have a life, and that's much more than 5 reasons. But most important of all that He has given me is Eternal life with Him.
So now whats your 5 reason?
